I was awakened by this burden from the Lord in December of 2008 while I was at work. I knew this would not be easy, particularly because I am post-abortive. My difficulty with this soon faded as the Lord brought women to me that would tell me about their own abortion experiences. I had to give my past to the Lord so He could gird me with the strength and Faith to do His perfect will. Forgiveness is something that most post-abortive women won’t do for themselves. As I have gone down this road, I have found that nearly 1/3 of women are post-abortive and about 85% of them claim to be Catholic/Protestant/Born Again Christian…and they are in the church not being ministered to.
I had the honor and opportunity to testify for the Heartbeat Bill in 2011. I testified for both the House and Senate Committees on behalf of the Post Abortive woman. I knew that my testimony would be now public record and anyone can now know my story. But it was worth it if it could save just one unborn baby. I speak when the opportunity arises – from ‘The Message of Life’:
“The Church, as a whole, has been woefully inadequate in getting the Message of Life out. The Church has stood by silently while millions of children have died these past 40 years. The Church typically stands on the excuse that the abortion issue is political. Political? Is it political that innocent children die every day to the tune of at least 4000 per day in the United States?”
I couldn’t do any of this if it were not for the Lord and my husband. Joe and I have been married for 7 years and he is a Preacher of the Gospel…and my assistant.
