    Most people that write about prolife and abortion issues have have no personal knowledge about what they are writing or saying, only the passion of trying to save unborn children – which I do commend them for. However, just know that I have personally been inside of an abortion clinic, saw the conditions, dealt with the staff and suffered the procedure. What I have to purport is not arbitrary or flippant; it is the stone cold truth.

The Narrow Gate

Entering through the narrow gate makes demands on the person passing through. First, you must enter alone. You can bring no one else and nothing else with you. Baggage not required; lack of faith, worry, your past, grief, hate. What is the cost? What is needed to go through the narrow gate?

“Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it.  Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.”*

Don’t have to be rich; in fact Jesus said ‘sell what you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me (Mat 19:21)’. That statement alone should not grieve you, it should relieve you. Finding out that there are no earthly goods needed is truly astonishing to the ‘rich’ man. ‘How can that be?’ the rich man wonders. While still on this earth, all that is needed is your faith, prayer and well shod feet; ‘Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature (Mark 16:15)’. If money comes, then I assure you He has a mission for it before it ever touches your hands.

Jesus made the way to Him so easy. Life is precious to Him; every unborn child that will succumb to abortion, children gunned down at school, inmates on death row, murderers – everyone. ‘If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved (Rom 10:9)’.

The narrow gate is not so hard to go through. Bring nothing, He has everything. Do you hurt? He heals. Are you poor? He has a mansion for you. Are you hungry? You will never hunger or thirst again.

What could you possibly have that he wants? Faith alone.

Active in – activism

“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.”*

I know as an activist that abortion will probably be a fact of life today and in the future, considering the current administration and the so-called health reform on the table.

So, what are we supposed to do?

We have to work on the hearts of the moms out there that are pregnant and considering abortion. This is why street ministry and the internet works.

When I was driving to work one day I saw someone that seemed to be pacing back and forth in front of a small office building here in Baton Rouge. The next day he was there again, pacing back and forth in front of the same building. Finally I saw him again a couple of days later but this time I saw what he was holding up while he was pacing…it was a crucifix of Christ on the Cross. Suddenly I knew exactly what he was doing; he was there to talk to women and girls before they went in that building to get an abortion. What was really sad is that he was there all by himself.Jeremiah2911

The reality of what these women are contemplating hasn’t become real until someone tells them so. I know that sounds very elementary, but honestly it’s true. The only reality these women know at the time is keeping their boyfriend, staying in school, fitting into their clothes, keeping their parents from finding out, on and on and on. They truly have no idea a living human being is inside of their body.

Street ministry, peaceful protests and informational websites does a lot to bring the reality that a child is about to lose its life if the mom decides to abort.

We need to see the reality of abortion; the slain children of this grotesque act need to be heard so the next child will have a chance at the life it was ordained to have.

So the next time you wanna just hang it up and throw in the towel because you think the deck is stacked against the scourge of abortion, remember that every unborn human being is counting on activists like you and me to tell their mom to not murder them…because no one else will.

A mother’s hope

I bounced around like a ricocheting bullet my entire life; in and out of bad relationships, had my first child out of wedlock, an off and on drinking problem, raised in Catholicism, etc. And there’s so much more in-between. Somehow I’ve made it through with only a couple of unseen scars.

Finally, the Lord caught up with me on December 12, 2001 at an offsite sales meeting. I heard the Gospel for the very first time from a man that praised Jesus and gave God the glory for his success. The next day at work, the Lord put him in my path and I accepted Jesus that day, December 13, 2001. I was 40 years old.

Since then I have put myself through a near literal Hell for not raising my children knowing Jesus. Of course I didn’t know Jesus then, but it still weighs on me. Their Eternity is at stake.

Last night at church, when the call came for those that don’t know the Lord, my youngest son held up his hand, barely, and was repeating the Sinner’s Prayer.

A miracle happened last night; my son will now know Eternity with the Lord Jesus Christ.

Thank you, Precious Lord.

Accepting the Truth about Life

Romans 3:23 says, ‘For all have sinned and come short of the Glory of God’. 

All of us! Every Christian has failed, bar NONE. Actually, that makes me feel a bit better that I’m not the only failure! But thank GOD for forgiveness.

Yes, abortion is forgivable.

In part 1 of Carrying the Bag, we defined what Life is in the eyes of God according to His living Word. Our lives were known by God long before our parents knew us. That simple statement reminds me how important my life is to Him and the Kingdom! But when we abort, we bind the hands of God from what that tiny life would have been capable of in the Kingdom. Talk about falling short of the Glory of God! When you aborted, you told God NO.

Repentance brings forgiveness! Have you asked God out loud to forgive you? With forgiveness, now we can take responsibility for our sin: Psalm 32:5 says, ‘I acknowledged my sin to you, and I did not cover my iniquity; I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the LORD,” and You forgave the iniquity of my sin.’ King David is a perfect example of someone that really fell short of what God had for him, his repentance and his victory: ‘Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me,’ (Psalm 51:10).

You ask, ‘Why did this happen to me? Why didn’t God love me enough to stop me?’ I assure you, He gives us every opportunity to NOT sin, but we are human. God either causes or allows heartbreak, grief, failure, death and sickness to allow us to grow in grace and knowledge of Him and His Word. Once we mere humans understand that His way is perfect, no matter how it doesn’t make sense to us; it is His Divine Will. Upon recognizing this, we can let go and let God. ‘The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly,’ (John 10:10).

Now we can realize the responsibility of the abortion. We don’t walk away from abortion unscathed; it’s a horrible secret we carry around in a heavy, heavy bag everyday everywhere we go. How many years have you Carried the Bag? How has your life changed since the abortion?

Post Abortion Syndrome is a response to the ‘stress’ of abortion on the mother (and sometimes to the father); a phenomenon that can manifest sometimes years after the abortion. PAS can involve a long period of recovery mostly because the manifestations are so extreme and agonizing. Indications of PAS are (not necessarily limited to):

  1. Alcohol and/or Drug abuse
  2. Eating disorders
  3. Child neglect or abuse
  4. Divorce or divorces; Chronic relationship problems
  5. Promiscuity/Sexual dysfunction
  6. Depression/Suicidal
  7. Isolation/Anxiety
  8. Repeat abortions.

We need to recognize the constant battle being fought for our very soul. It is our persistence in the things of God and pressing toward the Goal – living a Cross-centered life – that makes the devil mad and makes us better women of God. We are Blessed and highly favored! You will never forget that day your abortion took place. But giving this burden to God is not only freeing to you but He wants you to!

Romans 8:1 says, ‘There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.’

Fruit of the Tree

A favorite of mine originally posted January 19, 2009.

Jeremiah 11:19 reads “But I was like a lamb or an ox that is brought to the slaughter, and I knew not that they had devised devices against me saying, let us destroy the tree with the fruit thereof, and let us cut him off from the land of the living, that his name may be no more remembered;” (Expositor’s Study Bible).

Jeremiah is a type of Christ, I know, but this verse seemed so appropriate for this horrible loss of life called abortion. If you look at the verse, it’s the fruit of the tree that was to be ‘cut off’ so that no one would know about it. And so is abortion; an unnamed child to be forgotten as if it never was. But God knows that child. He knows all children, born or unborn.

I am not a Bible scholar, I only know what the Lord said to my heart. The Devil seeks the unborn children, the most innocent of all humankind and knows they can’t fight back – YET. But wait until Jesus comes back in Glory – the children will be with him – all 50+ million of them. Now that’s an army!

Carrying the BAG, part 1

God gave us ‘free will’; the ability to choose right from wrong. Throughout the ages, the freedom to choose has destroyed life rather than protect it.

Deuteronomy 30:19 says, ‘I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and curse. Therefore choose life, that you and your offspring may live…’

The world will tell you that an unborn child is not a ‘baby’ until ____. There is a reason why I left it blank. There are many answers to that question according to the Supreme Court, state and federal law.

God is the Creator of everything and everyone. So, let’s go to the Word of God!

1)When does life begin? 2)Who gives life? 3)Who takes life? Answers (yes, there might be a quiz later):

  1. Before conception – Jeremiah 1:5
  2. God – Psalm 139:13-14
  3. God – Job 1:21

The big question that both sides of the abortion issue ask is “Does life begin at conception”? The answer is a resounding Absolutely NOT. Life began long before your natural parents knew each other. As stated in Jeremiah 1:5, we were known to God and already had a purpose and ministry mapped before us. As well in Jeremiah 29:11, ‘For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope’. See scriptures here.

An unborn child at conception is an eternal being that has a divine purpose that was first created and loved by God, second by his/her parents. Women have been entrusted with the incredible ability and opportunity to give life to an eternal soul created in the image of God! What an honor!

Lawmakers that believed the abortion lie did not know God as Creator, nor did they know God as God at all. Think of it this way: if walking down the street you see someone that’s homeless – are you moved to help or pray for that person or do you think this person was a mistake because of that person’s circumstances? Answer that HONESTLY. Remember, God hears you.

When we are physically made, we go through a myriad of changes every day during gestation. Here’s  what a brand new unborn child goes through in the first 9 weeks of life:

  • 7 days – now has his/her own blood cells; placenta has formed
  • 19 days – heart begins to beat
  • 20 days – foundation of the nervous system is laid
  • 24 days – heart now has regular beats
  • 30 days – regular blood flow within the vascular system begins; ear and nasal development
  • 35 days – eyes start to develop; 40 pairs of muscles are present
  • 40 days – heart output is 20% of an adult
  • 42 days – brain waves are detectable
  • 49 days – skeletal system is developed, fingers, toes and ears
  • 50 days – internal organs and external structures are identifiable
  • 56 days – all organs are functioning (stomach, liver, kidneys, brain); all systems are intact.
  • 56 days – At this time, all future development of new life is simply growth and maturity of what’s there at this time
  • 9th week – teeth begin to form; fingernails develops and the baby can now squint, swallow and can retract their tongue.

It is at about the 9th week that most abortions are performed.

A better way.

Conjecture    conjecture -  [kuhn-jek-cher] ; noun

  1. the formation or expression of an opinion or theory without sufficient evidence for proof.
  2. an opinion or theory so formed or expressed; guess; speculation.
  3. Obsolete. the interpretation of signs or omens.

No one will take the church seriously if we, as the Body of Christ, cannot walk and talk the Word of God AS IT IS WRITTEN.

The simplicity of the Bible is blown so far out of context that it has become conjecture at best. It’s hard to blame the brand new Christian or the post modern Christian for being completely unsanctified when no one has the guts to tell them the truth about the Bible and what it means. Why is the Church the farthest away from the ‘truth’?

The Bible is the bible is the bible. It can never change just as God can never change. But we have people like Eugene Peterson that think they have an edge on the truth, as they see it. God is not pleased. The Bible is a story of Redemption, not a social mix of half-truths to soothe the savage beast. The Message ‘Bible’ has a message: don’t worry, be happy.

This is what I’m getting at: Because of pure conjecture on Man’s part, we have a watered down gospel preached world-wide that does not base itself on the ORIGINAL Word of God which puts the ‘believer’ in a place of pseudo-Christianity. “There is therefore now no condemnation*” has been put to the test….instead of understanding that it was the sinless death of Jesus that saved us because of our own sin, Christians now utter no condemnation because of a false sense of eternal security to justify very bad behaviour without consequence.

It’s kind of like going to a friend’s house that has ‘cool’ parents…no consequence.

You can’t tell this Reverend that it’s okay to drink alcohol or smoke cigarettes. You can’t tell me it’s okay to wear clothes too tight or too short. And regardless of how much they say they love each other, same sex ANYTHING is against the Plan of God in every respect**. Men act like women, women act like men. Abortion continues because the Church will NOT stand up and say it is wrong in every case and every circumstance.

 No one will take the church seriously if we, as the Body of Christ, cannot walk and talk and walk the Word of God AS IT IS WRITTEN.

Suicide is rampant because the world saturates people into believing there is no God and no hope of Eternity, thus no reason to live. True Christians worship and fellowship in spite of the world to bring hope to a suffering people.

**1 Corinthians 6:9-10 says, (v9) ‘Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? The Scheme of things, to come.

First, let me make perfectly clear what a rainbow is for AGAIN:

Genesis 9:12 – And God said: ‘This is the sign of the covenant which I make between Me and you, and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations: 13 I set My rainbow in the cloud, and it shall be for the sign of the covenant between Me and the earth. 14 It shall be, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the rainbow shall be seen in the cloud’. rainbow

Let me expound – the rainbow cautions us (believers) to be thankful to God, for whenever the rainbow does appear, it reminds all men (mankind) of God’s great wrath which once destroyed the world by the flood. This is called the Sign of the Promise or Sign of the Covenant. It is not the sign of the LGBT&Q’s.

God is pretty busy at being the God of everything every minute of every day, but He is never too busy to point out the blasphemous outspokenness of us humans, believers and nonbelievers alike, hence the Flood and the burning of Sodom and Gomorrah.

How much longer is God going to allow Sodom and Gomorrah to exist?

Not much longer. We are in the end of the End Times.

Galatians 6:7 says, ‘Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap’.  Simply, this means that God knows what our (mankind, everybody) real character is, and He will judge us accordingly whether you believe in Him or not. He will judge the homosexual community for their crimes against nature.

Second, no one is born obese, drunk, mean, a gambler, a murderer or gay. No one.

The Gay Community goes through great strides to thumb their nose to God and anything deemed normal. One of the biggest lies is that anyone was born a homosexual. God does not make mistakes:

Leviticus 18: 22 – ‘You shall not lie with a male as with a woman. It is an abomination’. Likewise, Romans 1:26-27 says, ‘26 For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. 27 Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due’.

repent1These Scriptures prove that the homosexual lifestyle was CHOSEN not birthed. Incredibly, for as many gays that are ostentatious there are those that are struggling with the sin of homosexuality. There is forgiveness of all sins, even homosexuality – as heinous and against God that it is – if the sinner repents.

Saying you don’t believe in God does not make you EXEMPT from the judgment that is to come. But, I want to make perfectly clear that God DOES NOT HATE the homosexual, He HATES THE SIN of homosexuality. All sin can be forgiven if you REPENT AND BELIEVE.

Look, Christian – stop sitting on the fence being a part-time believer and tell the homosexual that they will go to Hell if they do not stop their abomination. Do you want to feel answerable for their Eternity?

Life and Atheism

If there was no God, then there isn’t Life.

From the Miami Herald:  “Most people are under the impression that atheists lack morals and ethics. We are trying to dispel that myth,” said Ken Loukinen, founder of the 400-member Florida Atheists and Secular Humanists, which is sponsoring a controversial billboard in Broward County. Below is a photo of the actual billboard that they paid for. Neighbours are not happy. Read the article here.

Take a hard look at this billboard…see it? It doesn’t say ‘require a god’, it says ‘require God’. It doesn’t say ‘don’t believe in a god’, it says ‘in God’! They have shown that God is still Sovereign!They have inadvertently shown God that He is still GOD to the whole world.

I find it interesting that atheists want to be looked upon as ‘good people’ just like they think Christians are. Also what I find even more interesting that they want to not be looked upon as Satan worshipers, either. However, it is their goal to dispel the ‘myth of God’. The article goes on to say…

“On Dec. 25, South Florida will have its first weeklong camp for kids from atheist families at Hugh Taylor Birch State Park Fort Lauderdale, complete with a “Socrates Cafe” and even Bible study — for cultural literacy. Organizers, who include Florida Atheists and Secular Humanists, Humanists of Florida Association and the Center for Inquiry, expect about 60 campers.”

So they go on Christmas Day and have Bible study? ATHEISTS???

What I see here is a bunch of people that don’t want to have to justify their lives to God or to the community at-large. Also what is happening is that they want to change your mind about God. Make sure you know who is at your next neighbourhood get-together…and if they’re there, bring tracts.

All Stars go to Heaven…the Myth

Farrah Fawcett, Michael Jackson, Steve McNair, Karl Malden, Harve Presnell, Billy Mays, Fred Travalena, Gale Storm have died…and that’s in the last week or so.

‘He was a great person’, ‘She loved everyone’, ‘He was so generous’; on and on and on.  It’s funny…I remember doing the same thing; just because someone is rich and famous they instantly go to Heaven when they die. The rest of us grunts have to work at being good enough to go. What isn’t so funny is that the majority of people actually still believe that.john316

I ask you this: If you died today, where would you go? Each one of us has an eternity to choose. I say choose wisely.

Right now, there is a Hell full of people that NOW believe in Jesus Christ and NOW understand the Revelation of his Birth, Death and Resurrection. If they had believed that in the first place, they would be with Him NOW instead of a fiery Hell. Eternity is FOREVER.

All of the celebrities that I mentioned are lauded as people that have done great things and deserve Heaven. I assure you, no one deserves Heaven; but One died for us so that we would never taste death and know everlasting life. If any of the people I named knew the Lord Jesus Christ as Saviour, they will be in Heaven. If they did not, then they are in Hell…no matter how great or rich or generous or nice they were. There are a lot of good people in Hell because they chose to not know Jesus.

Romans 10:9 – ‘That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.’ NKJV.

Choose wisely. Choose Life. Choose Jesus.
