    Most people that write about prolife and abortion issues have have no personal knowledge about what they are writing or saying, only the passion of trying to save unborn children – which I do commend them for. However, just know that I have personally been inside of an abortion clinic, saw the conditions, dealt with the staff and suffered the procedure. What I have to purport is not arbitrary or flippant; it is the stone cold truth.

    Dear Lord Jesus, I realize that I am a sinner and have broken your laws. I understand that my sin has separated me from you. I am sorry and I ask you to forgive me. I accept the fact that your son Jesus Christ died for me, was resurrected, and is alive today and hears my prayers. I now open my heart’s door and invite Jesus in to become my Lord and my Saviour. I give Him control and ask that He would rule and reign in my heart so that His perfect will would be accomplished in my life.

Pastors, we need to talk.

A recent post on Facebook from an ardent Prolifer and sidewalk counselor said, “One of the moms who murdered her baby this morning had been given ‘assurance of salvation’ by her ‘church.’ She told me that she had ‘prayed about it,’ and was not to be judged by ‘legalism.’ Most of the people going into the abortuary this morning claimed to be Christians.”

“The Alan Guttmacher Institute tells us that 43% of aborting women identify themselves as Protestant, while 27% identify themselves as Catholic. If these numbers are accurate, that leaves us with the shocking conclusion that 70% of all abortions in the U.S. are performed on women who claim the name of Jesus Christ.” (Abort73.com)

Pastors, we need to talk.

Today, women and girls in the Church are struggling with or facing abortion. She will seek counsel with elders and pastors or church members she looks up to. Some will go to friends and family. Who will she listen to? Someone that will say it’ll be okay or listen to convicting counsel?

It’s not that easy anymore. Today’s church gives a message of hyper-grace that does not condemn sin but gives license to sin without responsibility.  

Are Christians prolife?

“But the admission of abortion as a “tragic necessity” is also discouraging. It means that some people believe that abortion terminates a human life, and yet they still believe that there are circumstances under which this kind of killing should be sanctioned. I don’t know who scares me more – the abortion crusader who believes, against all the evidence, that the fetus is no more human than a blob of tissue, or the abortion advocate who believes fetuses may indeed be human persons and yet would still sanction an atrocious act of violence toward these helpless victims.” (Christianity.com)

Churches don’t preach on social issues enough and even believe that fornication and abortion can’t happen in their congregation; one of the reasons why Pastors think this is because they think that what comes out of their pulpit would keep women and girls from getting abortions OR fornicating. It’s a VERY arrogant stance on the Pastor’s part, to be sure. Apparently preaching SIN is not enough, Pastors and Preachers need to hit the nail on the head HARD in regard to fornication and the fruits of it, pregnancy.

Standing in the shadow of the Cross does not make you exempt from SIN.

There are too many Born-Again Christian women exemplifying a lifestyle that does not reflect a soul saved by Grace. Christian women, young and not so young, live with men or have sexual relationships with men without accountability and without the benefit of marriage. If there is no accountability, then abortion is just a liability of a life lived in sin.

“Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life.”

The Prolife Christian & the Death Penalty

After a recent arrest of an abortion ‘doctor’ in Philadelphia (Dr. Kermit Gosnell), Prolifers have come out from the woodwork screaming ‘DEATH PENALTY’. True, this doctor did horrible gruesome things to children and women, but who is in charge of Life and death?

It’s hard to see people that say prolife but have a different view when the rubber meets the road. All Life is sanctified and given by God only and it is up to Him when death is necessary. These ‘Moderate Prolifers’ are the fair-weather friends of Life.

Many, many Evangelical Christians are in favor of the Death Penalty, even some that I know personally. If we give man the authority to kill, what have we to preach about? Life when it’s proper and lawful? How can that be when the Bible says ‘Thou shalt NOT kill’? This is the BIG question when we have to recognize the law of the land; but is it still wrong? YES.

Does God judge through man?

Yes, in Genesis 9:6 He plainly said: “Whoever sheds man’s blood, by man his blood shall be shed; for in the image of God He made man.’

What is being taught in the pulpit, Life or death?

Christians love to bring up the Old Testament ‘eye for an eye’ mentality but the reality is that we are in a new covenant WITH Christ, ‘you shall love your neighbor as yourself’.

Scripture balances Scripture.

Confusing? No, if God judges a man or woman to death, He will use whom He will use. However, if a man or woman takes the Life another, Leviticus 19:18 says, ‘You shall not take vengeance, nor bear any grudge against the children of your people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself: I am the LORD.’ Also,  ’For He says to Moses, “I will have mercy on whomever I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whomever I will have compassion.’

God is LORD. Just God. Through Him justice comes:

  • At the altar – for forgiveness and restoration
  • At the ‘woodshed’ – those he loves he chastises; sickness, finances
  • Through His mercy – die prematurely

    Grace & Mercy alone through Christ can heal and restore.

Christians should never believe in the death penalty BUT accept it as law, as Scripture says in Romans 13:

‘Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God. Therefore whoever resists the authority resists the ordinance of God, and those who resist will bring judgment on themselves.’

The Unforgiver

Unforgivable.

Nevertheless He regarded their affliction, when He heard their cry; and for the sake He remembered His covenant, and relented according to the multitude of His mercies – Psalm 106:44-45.

Having been through an abortion early in my life, my reminder of it is not always what comes across my mind but from an accusing finger pointing from someone I trusted. It wasn’t until I came to know the Lord over 23 years later that I finally knew peace.

It is of the LORD’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness – Lamentations 3:22-23.

Precious few people that say they understand grace and mercy rarely put their words into action. They believe that another person’s sin is worse to unforgivable from their own. The view from on top of their mountain must be grand.

Therefore strengthen the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees, and make straight paths for your feet, so that what is lame may not be dislocated, but rather be healed – Hebrews 12:12-13.

I came to the conclusion that I cannot make anyone change. My change came from within and I have to let God work on their heart that they may change, too. I know that in time, if a person answers the call of God willfully, they will know their folly. All we can do on this side of Heaven is pray for them.

But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us – Romans 5:8.

Yes, we have all sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God – and yes, I want to shake the devil out of them. But it is up to me to work out my own salvation and up to God to get the unforgiver to the altar of Grace.

Choose Life.

“I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live…”  Deuteronomy 30:19

 Your life has been first ordained by God before the foundations of the world. So has your unborn child’s life. Regardless of your personal situation, your unborn child is innocent on all counts. Your life might be eight kinds of hell right now, but how is that the fault of an innocent unborn child to have to die for your sins?

We have a Redeemer in Jesus Christ who was chosen before Creation was created to die for our sins that we might be saved if we believe on Him. Jesus was innocent on all counts; He died without sin…perfect. It took a perfect sacrifice to atone for our evil, sinful hearts. He is the Sacrifice, not your unborn child.

Killing your child will not change your life for the better, but I assure you, your life will change.

Accepting the Truth about Life

Romans 3:23 says, ‘For all have sinned and come short of the Glory of God’. 

All of us! Every Christian has failed, bar NONE. Actually, that makes me feel a bit better that I’m not the only failure! But thank GOD for forgiveness.

Yes, abortion is forgivable.

In part 1 of Carrying the Bag, we defined what Life is in the eyes of God according to His living Word. Our lives were known by God long before our parents knew us. That simple statement reminds me how important my life is to Him and the Kingdom! But when we abort, we bind the hands of God from what that tiny life would have been capable of in the Kingdom. Talk about falling short of the Glory of God! When you aborted, you told God NO.

Repentance brings forgiveness! Have you asked God out loud to forgive you? With forgiveness, now we can take responsibility for our sin: Psalm 32:5 says, ‘I acknowledged my sin to you, and I did not cover my iniquity; I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the LORD,” and You forgave the iniquity of my sin.’ King David is a perfect example of someone that really fell short of what God had for him, his repentance and his victory: ‘Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me,’ (Psalm 51:10).

You ask, ‘Why did this happen to me? Why didn’t God love me enough to stop me?’ I assure you, He gives us every opportunity to NOT sin, but we are human. God either causes or allows heartbreak, grief, failure, death and sickness to allow us to grow in grace and knowledge of Him and His Word. Once we mere humans understand that His way is perfect, no matter how it doesn’t make sense to us; it is His Divine Will. Upon recognizing this, we can let go and let God. ‘The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly,’ (John 10:10).

Now we can realize the responsibility of the abortion. We don’t walk away from abortion unscathed; it’s a horrible secret we carry around in a heavy, heavy bag everyday everywhere we go. How many years have you Carried the Bag? How has your life changed since the abortion?

Post Abortion Syndrome is a response to the ‘stress’ of abortion on the mother (and sometimes to the father); a phenomenon that can manifest sometimes years after the abortion. PAS can involve a long period of recovery mostly because the manifestations are so extreme and agonizing. Indications of PAS are (not necessarily limited to):

  1. Alcohol and/or Drug abuse
  2. Eating disorders
  3. Child neglect or abuse
  4. Divorce or divorces; Chronic relationship problems
  5. Promiscuity/Sexual dysfunction
  6. Depression/Suicidal
  7. Isolation/Anxiety
  8. Repeat abortions.

We need to recognize the constant battle being fought for our very soul. It is our persistence in the things of God and pressing toward the Goal – living a Cross-centered life – that makes the devil mad and makes us better women of God. We are Blessed and highly favored! You will never forget that day your abortion took place. But giving this burden to God is not only freeing to you but He wants you to!

Romans 8:1 says, ‘There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.’

Sign of the times…really bad times.

As I’ve said, I am not, nor ever have been an Episcopalian. However, this particular denomination is a kind of benchmark on the ‘faith pulse’ of the church world in the United States…much like how Rick Warren is taking Christianity and wringing it out like a wet rag.Episcopal_shield

What’s going on? The Episcopal Church has had an uprising with ordaining gays in committed relationships, not just plain ol’ gays, but ones that have a significant other. Somehow that makes it better or worse? Episcopalians declared gays and lesbians eligible for “any ordained ministry, in a vote at the Episcopal General Convention this week.

“God has called and may call” gays in committed relationships to “any ordained ministry” in the Episcopal Church, the resolution says. That is according to Man, not according to the Bible.

There is a bottom line….be patient.

The Bible has clearly said that God considers homosexuality an impurity, a stench, an abomination. However, the homosexual community says that the ‘thorn in the flesh’ of the Apostle Paul was homosexual perversion, even though there is no evidence that points to that. It’s just wishful thinking on their part. The Scripture clearly states in 2 Corinthians 12:7-10:

7And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure.  8For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me.  9And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.  10Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong,” KJV.

Simply, this bit of scripture says that we are to not exalt ourselves in overcoming sin; we are to look to Christ and the Cross only. There is NOTHING regarding the Apostle Paul being a homosexual. Then the homosexual community says that since the New Covenant, all is under Grace, even homosexual perversion. NOT even close. The Scripture says in 1 Corinthians 6:9-10:

9Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,  10Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God,” KJV.

There is forgiveness for homosexuality, not acceptance.

The bottom line is this: The Episcopal Church ordains gays like Katherine Ragsdale who is a practicing lesbian that takes minor girls to abortion clinics. What the Episcopal Church has done is set a benchmark for radical gays and lesbians to have their say in the pulpit regarding acceptance in all things, including homosexual perversion and abortion. They may have their pulpit now, but they will taste death and be in the depths of hell if they do not repent.

When the Rapture happens, many will remain – standing right behind the pulpit.

Everyone can heal.

Isaiah 49:1 says …’The LORD has called Me from the womb; From the womb of My mother He has made mention of My name.’ We are all known since the beginning of time. No one is a mistake, there are no unwanted children. God knows them all.

There are times in my activist way of thinking that I forget Who I look to for strength and reason – Jesus Christ.

Luke 18:27 says …’The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.’ Theses are the words spoken by Jesus himself. Only He can fix what’s broken inside of you and me. Just when I feel completely lost and alone in the sins I have committed, I remember that Jesus died for me and Eva. If it weren’t for the Lord’s tender mercies, I don’t know how I wold have gotten through my transgressions – ONLY BY HIS GRACE AND MERCY.

Jesus loves ALL the children regardless if anyone else does.
