KeepLifeLegal Supports Ohio’s Heartbeat Bill

Most people that write about prolife and abortion issues have have no personal knowledge about what they are writing or saying, only the passion of trying to save unborn children – which I do commend them for. However, just know that I have personally been inside of an abortion clinic, saw the conditions, dealt with the staff and suffered the procedure. What I have to purport is not arbitrary or flippant; it is the stone cold truth.
Salvation Help
Dear Lord Jesus, I realize that I am a sinner and have broken your laws. I understand that my sin has separated me from you. I am sorry and I ask you to forgive me. I accept the fact that your son Jesus Christ died for me, was resurrected, and is alive today and hears my prayers. I now open my heart’s door and invite Jesus in to become my Lord and my Saviour. I give Him control and ask that He would rule and reign in my heart so that His perfect will would be accomplished in my life.
It is still so hard to believe that after many years of being a polite society here in these United States of America that Roe v. Wade will soon be in its 40th year. With abortion still legal, we as a nation and a society have become a dismal failure.
In this past 39th year of Roe, much has happened to further the lives of our unborn children but as we all know, it is not enough. We can march around world a bazillion times but until we are led by a prolife president that has the guts to say NO to abortion and to Roe, marching won’t matter. I know marching and other protests bring awareness to the problem, but even I’m sick of the word ‘awareness’: I WANT RESULTS.
We cannot change the problem until we can change the heart.
This past 39th year of Roe, I have been entwined with the Heartbeat Bill here in Ohio. I had to get out of the box and say out loud, in the House committee that was hearing testimony for the Bill, that I had an abortion and how it has affected my life. And as difficult as that was for me to testify before the House Committee, it was even harder to hear testimony supporting abortion. I can’t tell you how awful it is to listen to men and women say it’s a RIGHT to kill an unborn child. In my entire 50 years on this earth, I still am in awe of people – especially those that consider themselves ‘clergy’ – that fight the devil’s fight to kill our unborn. All it did was fuel the fire that God has put in my gut to stop this heinous bleating of ‘reproductive rights’.
The Heartbeat Bill brought me in front of the media, as well. It was something that was kind of cool and rather humbling. The local news and newspaper was interested in the Bill and that I testified on behalf of post abortive women, like me. Somehow that didn’t make sense to people but it certainly did to me. I know that God set me up to be the one to look to for the post abortive answer to the abortion question.
As this 39th year of Roe progressed, I was given the distinct honor of being asked to be the speaker at the closing rally for 40 Day for Life here in Dayton. It blessed me beyond measure. A great big thanks to everyone that came and supported me and the cause for LIFE.
In October, we went to Dayton Life Chain and stood with 2000 other people in silent prayer for one hour in reflection of the lives of the unborn that were aborted. I think we at least a 3 mile chain this last time! As drivers passed by, maybe at least one unborn child was saved. I really enjoy making the devil MAD.
As the Heartbeat Bill progressed, I was honored to testify again, this time for the Senate Committee. As I sat through the first day of testimony, I was grieved to see very young girls and boys in Planned Parenthood t-shirts. Obviously, these kids have no idea what they were doing. They giggled and made fun of Prolifers behind their backs with obscene gestures…..all bought and paid for by our tax money.
In this 39th year of Roe, women that I know felt comfortable enough to confide in me about their abortion experience. In a way it is nice to know that I am not alone, but I kind of wish I was. I hate that anyone ever had to go through the abortion procedure. The life of a post abortive woman is never a bed of roses – of that I am sure.
During this 39th year of Roe, I became a grandmother again. She was not planned or even considered until her mom realized she was pregnant. I am thankful that her mom chose LIFE. I’m thankful that my son is a good dad. And she is quite beautiful.
Part of being prolife is being a bit of an evangelist. This last year has given me further proof that GOD is in control and will prevail. He will change the hearts of women and men about LIFE; all I am is His servant…as we all should be. Without understanding that GOD is the Creator – the Author and Finisher, the Alpha and the Omega – then we stand a weak chance of changing the mind of people about LIFE. After all, if you don’t know where LIFE comes from, how can you respect it?
So as this 39th year of Roe v. Wade comes to a close, and the 40th year begins, we need to be much more attentive to the post abortive woman. There are AT LEAST 55+ million of us that have to deal with our failure every day. But our failure can be what changes the face of abortion and overturns Roe v. Wade. I am ever thankful to GOD that He has brought me this far in my Prolife LIFE, but there is far, far more to do.
I want to thank my husband for being the only one that stood by me at every event and encouraged my every written word; whether it was on this site or one of my many Letters to the Editor of our Ohio newspapers or writing testimony. I say I don’t know if I could have done this alone, but GOD is with me! And it took my husband to remind me of that every step of every day of my Prolife LIFE this 39th year of Roe v. Wade.
Let me leave this with you regarding your Post Abortive walk:
“For thus says the LORD: After seventy years are completed at Babylon, I will visit you and perform My good word toward you, and cause you to return to this place. For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart. I will be found by you, says the LORD, and I will bring you back from your captivity; I will gather you from all the nations and from all the places where I have driven you, says the LORD, and I will bring you to the place from which I cause you to be carried away captive.” Jeremiah 29:10-14, NKJV
GOD knows you are or were in Babylon, a place where you are not celebrated, just tolerated. He wants you to know that all you have to do is ask Him and He will take you away from the captivity of being Post Abortive. GOD LOVES YOU! He knows your heart; He knows that you regret your ‘choice’. He knows you want to heal. So now it’s your turn to turn to HIM and be made whole again. Celebrate LIFE – celebrate Him.
Much of the American public believes that the issue of Life is a matter of opinion, not fact. Too many people see Life as a choice to be born or not, whether because of health reasons, financial circumstances, etc. The fact remains that Life is not by accident or circumstance, but ordained by One mightier than you or me.
We cannot change the color of the sky to suit us, then how is it we think we have the audacity to assign Life to those we think are more worthy and death to those who are not?
The humanistic world does not believe in God, but knows that there is a god-like ethereal being that they can call on when they need a new house or car; they suppose that because they do not worship or ‘believe’ in God or a god out loud that their deeds done in secret are not being remembered, accounted or even considered. How great is the chasm between the truth and an assumed belief to benefit yourself.
God is Lord of all, whether you believe in him or not.
All this being said, Life and death are haphazardly thought of because there is no outward sign of belief in God – an abortion is a blessing to an out of work single woman; euthanasia is prescribed because the quality of Life is dictated by well meaning family members that don’t want their loved one to suffer. I would say that the Life decisions they make are an advantage to themselves, not the person in need. In any event, someone dies.
Let me be the first to let you know that no one needs or wants your God-less opinion or assumption of what you think others need to have value and quality of Life.
To summarize: We don’t need a bunch of well meaning God haters to make laws that govern when we can and cannot have Life. The fact is that abortion and euthanasia is murder, not quality control.
The question is, “…If God is for us, who can be against us?” Turns out just about everyone who does not believe that Life has been and is foreordained before the foundations of this world.
Each one of us has a separate purpose and function; no one is left out, “For there is no partiality with God”, AND, “Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, the days fashioned for me, when as yet there were none of them.”
Election Day has come and gone and sadly, unborn Life is still at risk. Mississippi, which has some of the strictest anti-abortion law in the United States struck down the Personhood Amendment. Fingers are getting pointed toward who dropped the ball but the reality is this: The Church failed.
I get lambasted (off-handedly, I might add) by Personhood people because I support the Heartbeat Bill, which is incremental law. I kind of get why they are holding out for Personhood; we all want to see all unborn Life protected at every stage from conception. But what this last election in Mississippi has proven is that incremental law works, going for the gold does not.
The differences are clear – the Heartbeat Bill will protect life from a detectable heartbeat until birth. I know that means that not all unborn Life is protected (yet), but if you bear with me (and some of you have, thank you very much) you’ll understand why this bill would have prevailed in Mississippi. Personhood, if INTERPRETED incorrectly, which it was, will fail every time because according to Planned Parenthood who spearheaded the attack, it will impede a woman’s right to contraception and in vitro fertilization.
What did Planned Parenthood do? They went after the Church and it worked.
First, I don’t care what you believe…unless it’s coming straight from the Bible. In other words, just because you couldn’t have children does not mean you manipulate the hand of God to get what you want with in vitro fertilization. That is not how the God of the Bible works. There is no gray area; He’s God, you’re not. Instead of spending tens of thousands of dollars on something God hates, why not adopt children that are here and need you NOW?
Second, contraception has never been sanctified by the Church at large or God. It was accepted as a dismal fact that women in the Church will use contraception anyway and Pastors could not change it no matter how hard they preach and teach against it. Ladies, you cannot control the hand God. Life was meant to glorify Him, not get around Him.
Third, PRIDE. Planned Parenthood hit you where you are weak…your own pitiful ego.
PRIDE.
“These six things the LORD hates, Yes, seven are an abomination to Him: A proud look, a lying tongue, Hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that are swift in running to evil, a false witness who speaks lies, and one who sows discord among brethren.” Proverbs 6:16-19, NKJV
Christian woman were targeted by Planned Parenthood and they caved. I truly have to wonder if that woman is a Christian if they would actually consider in vitro and stand in the middle of the abortion fight not knowing where to turn.
Personhood was played well – a nice black eye for the Church. The innocent blood of unborn Life will be on the hands of Christian women that believe the lie that they can do what God does. You don’t believe in abortion? Neither does God. But you voted against it anyway.
Esther was orphaned and adopted by her cousin Mordecai and became Queen…a Queen of the greatest empire on the earth at that time. That doesn’t come by accident. She was chosen by God to help her people and her opposition was great. She knew she could die but her purpose was greater than her fear of death.
“Go, gather all the Jews to be found in Susa, and hold a fast on my behalf, and do not eat or drink for three days, night or day. I and my young women will also fast as you do. Then I will go to the king, though it is against the law, and if I perish, I perish.” Esther 4:16, ESV
Because of Queen Esther, the Jewish people were not exterminated. God showed her favor through King Ahasuerus and God used the Queen to fulfill the lineage to Jesus Christ. The story of Esther is one of grace and favor, but it doesn’t go without saying that she had a heart for God and a heart for her people.
There are no orphans of God, we are all accounted for – Jesus said, “But even the hairs of your head are all numbered.”
In the Prolife movement, I am Esther, you are Esther. We seek to free the children of Israel – all unborn children – every day through prayer, supplication and legislation.
“For how can I bear to see the calamity that is coming to my people? Or how can I bear to see the destruction of my kindred?” Esther 8:6, ESV
We are still trying to save the children of Israel, just like Esther, one unborn child at a time. Just as Haman in the Book of Esther sought to exterminate the Jews, today through the sin of abortion Haman still seeks our children, and he’s succeeding.
Queen Esther was victorious saving the children of Israel but we are still fighting the fight of abortion trying to save our unborn children. Women have usurped the authority of God to take command of their bodies:
“Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.” 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, ESV
We are not our own, our bodies are not our own. We are God’s…and so is every unborn child, without exception. Be an Esther, and save our children.
Do you know anyone that has been stricken with Alzheimer’s? I have. It’ll break your heart.
Pat Robertson has an opinion that someone with Alzheimer’s is already dead and that a spouse can go ahead and divorce their afflicted loved one and move on with their life. He perceives that death is not a physical thing, but a mental one as well. If that is the case Mr. Robertson, who else is dead to you? Those with Down Syndrome? Maybe the unborn? Those in comas?
My grandpa Hadley married a lady about a year before I was born. She had three children, two girls and a boy. As a kid I loved visiting them. My [step] grandma Lou made the best biscuits EVER. She even made fried baloney taste like heaven. They lived in a tiny town in southern Missouri only known to those that are from there. I remember one of their houses had an outhouse with a water pump outside.
After a while they bought a tiny little house in Houston, Missouri that a later owner would one day paint pink. When we would visit, somehow my grandparents would find the room for the five of us to spend the night. I think their Plymouth Fury was bigger than that house! Grandma Lou had a Hoosier cabinet that she would crank out flour to make her famous biscuits and let us eat hard candy in the dish by the couch. It was worth the drive from St. Louis.
By the time I was in my twenty’s, I was busy being a wife and mom and making enough of a paycheck to survive. I hadn’t visited my grandparents in many years and I hated that. But one day we were able to afford to make the drive down to my uncle’s farm to see everyone and to my surprise, my grandparents were in a nursing home. My grandma Lou had Alzheimer’s. My grandfather loved my grandma Lou so much that he decided to bunk with her at the nursing home.
I had never been to a nursing home before. I had my young son with me and all the ladies wanted to pinch his cheeks. We made our way to my grandparent’s room and to this day I still tear up when I think about it…Grandma Lou was lying in bed softly babbling something only she could understand. My grandpa would lovingly put his hand on her arm and talk with her as if she was speaking perfect English. I was stunned by the whole scene. I had no idea how sick she was and I had no idea how much he loved her to stay by her side as if she was perfectly well.
Ironically, Grandpa Hadley died from an aneurism before she passed. He lovingly took care of his wife until it was his time to go. He never left her side. Glory to God!
So Mr. Robertson, you are wrong. A man or woman with Alzheimer’s is just as alive as they were they day they conceived.
As we walk the halls of our lives and ministries, meandering without seeing, we think we have no effect on those our ministries focus on. Those of us in Ministry want instant results, just like anyone else. We use our eyes way too often and forget to open our bibles and hearts to an immutable God that will guide us to those that need LIFE saving Salvation and encouragement.
Truth is what everyone seeks; truth about whom we are, truth about where we’re going, truth about LIFE. Is there an end to the whirlwind? Is there peace? Is there an absolute TRUTH?
In everyone’s day-to-day LIFE, we tend to focus on what is negative because it’s what we SEE with our eyes. We ‘see’ what is set before us with our eyes only – it’s our perception and discernment that needs to be honed:
“I am the way, the truth, and the LIFE. No one comes to the Father except through Me. If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; and from now on you know Him and have seen Him.” John 14:6-7
Without perception, how could we come to know Him? And without discernment, how can we have truth in Him?
In Prolife ministry like KeepLifeLegal, we know that to save unborn babies, we have to try to change the heart of the mother and the abortionist to accept that LIFE is from God, not by accident. In evangelistic ministry, much is the same; to be saved you have to change your heart and accept Jesus Christ as Savior.
Pastors and Ministers: Today you may help change or save someone else’s LIFE, or maybe they’ll surprise you and change yours.
In the abortion debate, it’s all about the woman. The law and the public never consider the father of the child. This happens in adoptions, too.
A young man named John Wyatt and his girlfriend were pregnant and did not consider abortion but instead chose to keep their baby. John and his family were looking forward to the arrival of a daughter that he would never meet. You see, his girlfriend snuck out of the hospital with their daughter and gave her up for adoption without his consent, in another state.
Read John Wyatts’s story here and others like it. His personal site is here.
At this point in John’s story, it’s typical of how the law erases the father so that the woman is placated and wooed by pitiful state and federal laws of who the parent is…that is, until she wants child support.
Much is the same with a woman’s ‘right’ to abort…the father of the unborn child has no foothold of keeping his child because the mother has been considered the ‘host’ of this baby growing in her body, not his – she has the ‘right’ to kill his baby or adopt the baby out without the father’s knowledge or consent.
What struck me again (because I’ve seen it too many times) in John’s story is that the adoptive parent’s attorney praises how financially well off the new parents are and how John couldn’t give his daughter the same financial freedom and lifestyle. These people sow seeds of doubt so that the biological parents might go away dejected and humiliated. Essentially what people like that attorney are saying is that we should be able to choose parents for children based on wealth and education and social class.
Too many fathers like John Wyatt are left behind because of social issues implicated by liberal lawmakers that don’t understand the full scope of the axe they are wielding. Dads lose their children every day in abortion clinics and in court because of bad law. While most women and girls that abort are coerced into their ‘decision’, there are some men that want their babies and some of these dads are never told of the child OR some are never told until after the ‘procedure’ which is the cruelest of all.
Adopting kids is not like rescuing a puppy and abortion is NEVER the answer to any question. Children are the future of our world not an afterthought or blight.
If you are a pregnant woman and considering adoption or abortion….please, consider John.
Since this last November, Americans chose a ProLife America. We voted for our CHOICE to be a ProLife country. This has NAF, NARAL, PPFA (Planned Parenthood) and a host of others in a pinch and they know it. As I scan online newspapers daily I see Letters to the Editor from the likes of all of them all the time. They are running scared and are trying their level best to stay forefront for a woman’s right to choose murder for their unborn child. AND THEY NEED MONEY.
In PPFA’s own words, they received over $363 million dollars from us, the tax payer, to pay for abortions and contraceptives. They espoused their relationship with Barack Obama to gain further ground and get more funds and even expand clinics nation-wide. To their chagrin, the tables have turned. Their fat salaries that WE PAY are in jeopardy.
Ohio’s favorite son, Speaker of the House John Boehner, is on track to stop federal funding of abortions and particularly stop PPFA (and other providers) from getting one more red cent from taxpaying Americans. H.R. 3 says, and concisely I might add, that in no way should anyone in these United States pay for such a horrendous thing.
The ‘No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act’ is to right a listing ship that Obama tried to sink when he rescinded the Mexico City Policy the day after he took office. Since Roe v. Wade, every President has tackled the abortion issue the day after they take office. Abortion is addressed before jobs, the economy or the military.
DON’T TELL ME ABORTION ISN’T THE FIRST PRIORITY for every President.
Now it’s a priority to make it what it really is: MURDER.
After a recent arrest of an abortion ‘doctor’ in Philadelphia (Dr. Kermit Gosnell), Prolifers have come out from the woodwork screaming ‘DEATH PENALTY’. True, this doctor did horrible gruesome things to children and women, but who is in charge of Life and death?
It’s hard to see people that say prolife but have a different view when the rubber meets the road. All Life is sanctified and given by God only and it is up to Him when death is necessary. These ‘Moderate Prolifers’ are the fair-weather friends of Life.
Many, many Evangelical Christians are in favor of the Death Penalty, even some that I know personally. If we give man the authority to kill, what have we to preach about? Life when it’s proper and lawful? How can that be when the Bible says ‘Thou shalt NOT kill’? This is the BIG question when we have to recognize the law of the land; but is it still wrong? YES.
Does God judge through man?
Yes, in Genesis 9:6 He plainly said: “Whoever sheds man’s blood, by man his blood shall be shed; for in the image of God He made man.’
What is being taught in the pulpit, Life or death?
Christians love to bring up the Old Testament ‘eye for an eye’ mentality but the reality is that we are in a new covenant WITH Christ, ‘you shall love your neighbor as yourself’.
Scripture balances Scripture.
Confusing? No, if God judges a man or woman to death, He will use whom He will use. However, if a man or woman takes the Life another, Leviticus 19:18 says, ‘You shall not take vengeance, nor bear any grudge against the children of your people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself: I am the LORD.’ Also, ’For He says to Moses, “I will have mercy on whomever I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whomever I will have compassion.’
God is LORD. Just God. Through Him justice comes:
At the altar – for forgiveness and restoration
At the ‘woodshed’ – those he loves he chastises; sickness, finances
Through His mercy – die prematurely
Grace & Mercy alone through Christ can heal and restore.
Christians should never believe in the death penalty BUT accept it as law, as Scripture says in Romans 13:
‘Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God. Therefore whoever resists the authority resists the ordinance of God, and those who resist will bring judgment on themselves.’
Being on Facebook I see a lot of profiles of prospective ‘friends’. I go right to their political and religious views to see what they’re really made of. Anyone can talk the talk but what is the basis of what you really believe?
One of the most confusing combinations is the Democrat Christian. I wish you could see me shaking my head and drawing in a long, deep, troubling breath. Maybe 50 or more years ago the Democrat Christian was not only possible but the norm, especially in the South. That was before Roe v Wade and the political blunder of legalized on-demand abortion. But now the Democrat Christian is a wolf in sheep’s clothing. You can’t have it both ways. Their view on Life is a bit cloudy.
The story of Barack Obama should be your warning shot. He believes himself to be a Christian but puts in bloated ideology within legislation that does not protect Life at any age or gestation. That being said, we are seeing more Democrat Christians running for office and expecting Conservatives to give them a second look because of their Christianity. Unfortunately, Christianity can be as ambiguous as political views. Every Christian that is part of secularism of any kind has their own agenda with their own beliefs – whatever benefits them, not the Kingdom.
The abortion agenda is forefront and will weed out the men from the boys in the political realm. You cannot be a Christian and a Democrat – you are either prolife from natural conception to natural death or you are anti-Life, period. There are no maybes or what ifs when it comes to Life.
Truly, there is only one reason a person can be a Democrat Christian: to get a leg up financially, politically and to be considered equal in the eyes of the government regarding everything from gay marriage to sharia law.
The lives of millions of children are in the balance. Vote Pro Life, not pro YOU.
