Most people that write about prolife and abortion issues have have no personal knowledge about what they are writing or saying, only the passion of trying to save unborn children – which I do commend them for. However, just know that I have personally been inside of an abortion clinic, saw the conditions, dealt with the staff and suffered the procedure. What I have to purport is not arbitrary or flippant; it is the stone cold truth.
Salvation Help
Dear Lord Jesus, I realize that I am a sinner and have broken your laws. I understand that my sin has separated me from you. I am sorry and I ask you to forgive me. I accept the fact that your son Jesus Christ died for me, was resurrected, and is alive today and hears my prayers. I now open my heart’s door and invite Jesus in to become my Lord and my Saviour. I give Him control and ask that He would rule and reign in my heart so that His perfect will would be accomplished in my life.
Still after all this time during my post abortive journey and ministry, I am dismayed at how many churches do not exemplify a Prolife message. I think that more often than not, church goers assume a church is Prolife but that usually isn’t the case. When is the last time you heard a Prolife message or sermon in your church?
This article is not for the church goer, this message is for the PASTOR.
It is a well known fact that teenagers that wait to have sex have been taught at home, by their parents throughout their childhood, to wait and to be responsible for themselves and others. That being said, if church goers were taught by the Pastor in their church continually during their walk about Life, there would be no question about abortion.
If there is no respect for Life, then how can there be any respect for anything else the Lord has deemed holy?
After being a member of a large ministry, I saw how little abortion, chastity and holiness really meant to the multitude, not every person, but most: it was only addressed if it was newsworthy at the time. Ironically, those three things are why the Church is failing – when God is taken out of the equation, you have nothing but a liberal by-product that is unrecognizable to God and therefore, not anointed by Him. When these things happen, your church has essentially become a bar without the booze.
Pastors and ministers have a huge responsibility to teach the ENTIRE flock, not just the pretty part that has all the money. The true congregation is made up mostly of people that are hurt, desperate and wounded by what the world has given them. There is a better way, the way of Jesus Christ. Our churches are not the ‘sin hospital’ they are supposed to be. I remember being a seeker, looking desperately for that one place that would extend a loving, caring hand…not more condemnation. My God of the Bible loves us in spite of who we are, not who we should have been. There are many, many Pastors, preachers and ministers that don’t teach the God of the Bible that gave His Son that I would live.
The Apostle Paul said this about false teachers – “But what I do, I will also continue to do, that I may cut off the opportunity from those who desire an opportunity to be regarded just as we are in the things of which they boast. For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ. And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works.”
What about the congregation? What do we do to set ourselves apart from false teachers and preachers that do not exemplify Life and holiness?
Mark them: “Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them. For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.”
Go back to what the entire Bible teaches and find a ministry and/or church that has their foundation in the finished work of Jesus Christ – and LIFE.
Esther was orphaned and adopted by her cousin Mordecai and became Queen…a Queen of the greatest empire on the earth at that time. That doesn’t come by accident. She was chosen by God to help her people and her opposition was great. She knew she could die but her purpose was greater than her fear of death.
“Go, gather all the Jews to be found in Susa, and hold a fast on my behalf, and do not eat or drink for three days, night or day. I and my young women will also fast as you do. Then I will go to the king, though it is against the law, and if I perish, I perish.” Esther 4:16, ESV
Because of Queen Esther, the Jewish people were not exterminated. God showed her favor through King Ahasuerus and God used the Queen to fulfill the lineage to Jesus Christ. The story of Esther is one of grace and favor, but it doesn’t go without saying that she had a heart for God and a heart for her people.
There are no orphans of God, we are all accounted for – Jesus said, “But even the hairs of your head are all numbered.”
In the Prolife movement, I am Esther, you are Esther. We seek to free the children of Israel – all unborn children – every day through prayer, supplication and legislation.
“For how can I bear to see the calamity that is coming to my people? Or how can I bear to see the destruction of my kindred?” Esther 8:6, ESV
We are still trying to save the children of Israel, just like Esther, one unborn child at a time. Just as Haman in the Book of Esther sought to exterminate the Jews, today through the sin of abortion Haman still seeks our children, and he’s succeeding.
Queen Esther was victorious saving the children of Israel but we are still fighting the fight of abortion trying to save our unborn children. Women have usurped the authority of God to take command of their bodies:
“Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.” 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, ESV
We are not our own, our bodies are not our own. We are God’s…and so is every unborn child, without exception. Be an Esther, and save our children.
Did you know that God gives every person, EVERY PERSON, the opportunity to repent? NO ONE is so bad that they cannot be forgiven by God. So, every minute of every day God has given us ‘space’ to repent of our sin. That even means us, the post-abortive woman.
Jezebel was an enigma; she was incredibly intelligent and beautiful but literally used those attributes for evil, not for good. She was a false prophet, followed ‘other’ gods, murdered and encouraged others to fall away from God – which is the biggest sin of all, keeping anyone from salvation.
Even Jezebel was given every chance to repent:
“Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself aprophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols. And I gave her space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not.”
The sins of Jezebel were so important to God that he mentioned it in the Book of Revelation that we may see ourselves in her and repent before its too late. Because of Jezebel’s sin and her abhorrence of God, He made her death as heinous as her hatred of Him; “And concerning Jezebel the LORD also spoke, saying, ‘The dogs shall eat Jezebel by the wall of Jezreel.’”
We live most of our lives in regret of one kind or another. Everyone would like to turn back time to fix a wrong. In fact, God literally turned back time only once – for Hezekiah, King of Judah (2Kings 20:8-11)…a sign of God’s great Mercy.
But did God turn back time only once?
God gave us His Son Jesus Christ as a Sacrifice for sins we have yet to commit and for those that we regret every day. God gives us a chance to say yes to Jesus so we can be made clean from sin – every sin.
Our struggle isn’t just the ‘daily grind’, it’s a grim reminder that we choose to remember the past daily and assume the same thing will happen anyway. This struggle is for the benefit of the demons in hell, not to glorify God:
Lamentations 3:22-24, “It is of the LORD’s mercies that we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is Thy faithfulness. The LORD is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him.”
We get our mulligan – our ‘do over’, if we want it…just say yes to Jesus.
In the city in which I live, there was a ‘pride’ parade this past Saturday. It was typical; drag queens in their best dresses and false eyelashes, rainbows everywhere, same-sex couples with their ‘kids’, in-your-face signs to incite anger to rage, straights nodding in approval ‘because they ain’t hurtin’ nobody’. Now, the conservative Republican in me says ‘Get out of my government’…but the Minister that I am says ‘WAIT A MINIUTE…..was that gay man carrying a CROSS???’
Yes, he was. Did you know there are over 234 known ‘gay churches’ in the state of Ohio (only 11 in MS)? Most of these ‘churches’ are from denominations that are known for espousing the Gay Agenda and the Abortion Agenda; United Methodists, Presbyterians, United Church of Christ, Episcopals, United Campus Ministries, Lutheran, Catholic, MCC…but a Quaker, Baptist and Mennonite church? WOW. That’s bad enough but these churches are teaching children in Sunday school and youth groups. It’s one thing to do something stupid enough to make God use the word ‘abomination’, but indoctrinating innocent, ignorant children in church and in school of your perversion?
There is no question that some of Gay America believe themselves to be Christians. Not too far from where I live there is a ‘church’ that is ‘pastored’ (yes, I said that sarcastically) by two men professing to be married to each other WITH CHILDREN. That being said, when others see this debacle, they believe it to be correct because these men call themselves Reverend. NOTHING can be further from the truth.
“Nevertheless I have this against you, that you have left your first love. Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent and do the first works, or else I will come to you quickly and remove your lampstand from its place—unless you repent. But this you have, that you hate the deeds of the Nicolaitans*, which I also hate.” Revelation 2:4-6, NKJV
The abomination of homosexuality has been taught from Genesis through Revelation. The Gay Church instead tries to compartmentalize sin to make THE sin of homosexuality redeemable: ‘Is this relationship based on, and operating in, My love or not?’ (gaychurch.org). God hates the SIN of homosexuality (THE BIBLE), it goes against everything He has ever created. What the homosexual community does is emulate straight relationships and families to blend into what they truly want: to be normal. To be normal, ‘Christian’ LGBT’s has to give up their grievous sin and go back to the first love, fellowship with Jesus Christ.
Jesus said we cannot serve two masters (Matt 6:24); you cannot be gay and a Christian – it is impossible. Chapter 1 of the book of Romans says very clearly that ‘the men left the natural use of a woman’ committing what is shameful. Thus, ‘knowing the righteous judgment of God’ they have chosen what is ‘deserving of death’ (separation from God) as well as those that nod in approvement of such vile things.
This so-called Gay Church is dangerous; it sucks in grieving LGBT’s and their families as well as the local, approving community and progressive legislators. The Corinthian Church struggled with much sin and immorality that defiled the Church:
“Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God.” 1Corinthians 6:9-10, NKJV
*The Nicolaitans taught Israel ‘to eat things sacrificed to idols, and to commit sexual immorality’; a group of anti-law practitioners who supported a freedom that became self-indulgence particularly in sexual laxity including all forms of immorality including homosexuality. Incredibly but not surprisingly, the Nicolaitans were of a Gnostic sect.
“If you have 4 abortions and get saved can you make it to heaven or will you go to hell?”
If your abortions were before you got saved and you repented, you will go heaven. When you are saved by Grace through Faith, you accepted Jesus and His sacrifice; His atoning Blood covered you and your sin forever. Simply, God the Father chooses to not see your sin anymore because you accepted the sacrifice of His only Son, Jesus Christ. But just like Jesus said to the woman caught in act of adultery, ‘go and sin NO more’.
Another question asked:
“Can you be prolife and eat meat?”
At first, I thought that was kind of a silly question but I gave a bit of thought and can see why someone would consider it. The Sixth Commandment is clear, “Thou shall not murder”. His Commandments are meant toward other people, not animals. Not one bit of scripture said to save the cows and kill unborn babies.
Also, in the first chapter of Genesis, God made man in His image, not animals. Further, God said, ‘Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth’ and ‘See, I have given you every herb that yields seed which is on the face of all the earth, and every tree whose fruit yields seed; to you it shall be for food. Also, to every beast of the earth, to every bird of the air, and to everything that creeps on the earth, in which there is life, I have given every green herb for food”; and it was so.’ Clearly, God gave man (us) all of these things for food.
‘Then Jesus went into the temple of God and drove out all those who bought and sold in the temple, and overturned the tables of the money changers and the seats of those who sold doves.’ Matthew 21:12, NKJV
Jesus angered and did not sin; He had righteous anger toward those that did wrong – sinned – in the eyes of God. Prochoicers choose to be violent; Prolifers choose to have righteous anger toward bad law and bad government. You, my dear Prolifer, have the right to be angry.
You should be ANGRY that thousands of lives are lost to abortion every day in these United States. You should be ANGRY that people have sex without fearing consequence. You should be ANGRY that the government makes Americans pay for birth control and abortion. You should be ANGRY that your children are at risk because a Liberal Agenda teaches birth control and abortion in public school. You should be ANGRY that Planned Parenthood wants an office in your CHURCH. You should be so ANGRY that you will want to do whatever it takes to save lives, righteously.
Interesting note: On 9/11, more unborn children died from abortion that day than those that died in the attack. There is no memorial, no national holiday.
Prolifers are called haters and how that came to be, I couldn’t say. Prolifers are in the trenches protecting unborn Life every day because bad law gives a woman the right to kill an unborn child. Ultimately, abortion is the perfect hate crime. It’s a hate crime that is backed up by bad law, but backed up it is. Thousands of unborn Americans are killed every day because of BAD LAW.
Prolifers peacefully organize and congregate to pray and counsel, not name call and scream like our counterparts do. I’ve personally seen how full of hate prochoicers are; they use bad language and bad English, they are ill-mannered and ill-tempered, they lean on a pitiful liberal government, they taunt like 5 year olds and they are positioned to attack anyone that would dare try to save an unborn child from a certain death in an abortion clinic. Who’s the hater?
The Bible says ‘you shall love your neighbor as yourself’*. That bit of scripture is the key to a joyful life. Hating does not give us joy nor does it give us happiness. Hate is a disease that spreads faster than cancer. It is amusing how people that want to save the lives of unborn children are accused of being ‘hateful’ when it is prochoicers that spread this nastiness far a wide. Because I ‘love my neighbor’, I also have to love those that oppose LIFE and unborn children whether I like it or not. It is a command given by God and confirmed by Jesus Christ before his crucifixion.
My plan of action? I seek God, not the liberal media or anything else that has an agenda of death. The abortion agenda that Planned Parenthood and other abortion providers purport is an ideology in itself and of itself; they consider themselves as a god. And interestingly enough, the followers of such an agenda do not realize that one of the basic reasons they are still around is to keep Democrats in office. Ironically, the money they prostitute off the government is not just used for abortions, but it’s also used to finance an agenda most Americans do not want, to update waiting rooms and their websites to entice young people, and to pay for attorneys to fight for the ‘right’ to kill unborn children.
Planned Parenthood has become the inflatable gorilla on top of the building…a nuisance and an eyesore. One day it will become an urban legend; a distant memory of shame, death and Nazi-like ideology.
Dear Prolifer, your righteous anger moves mountains.
I don’t often write about post-abortive fathers simply because I’m not one, but I do know men that are. Men are funny creatures; they keep a lot close to the vest, maybe because of shame or they really don’t know how to share something so personal they don’t understand; perhaps because their partner/spouse at the time of the abortion didn’t tell them until after the abortion? The latter happens much more than you’d think.
Abortion is supposed to be about and for women, right? According to the law, it is. But there was never an amendment to allow a man to be in the decision making process and that was by design. Women wanted to be more powerful than men being able to hold their unborn child hostage.
A famous rock star ‘came out’ about the abortion he and his girlfriend had back in the ‘70’s. If I read it correctly, it was a saline abortion which is maybe the most heinous way to end a life, “You go to the doctor and they put the needle in her belly and they squeeze the stuff in and you watch. And it comes out dead. I was pretty devastated.” He knew it was a son. Apparently he witnessed this awful thing and he suffered with post-traumatic stress for years. I can let you know this: Abortion is something one never forgets. Ever.
Some of us mark that tragic event with alcohol or drugs or whatever even though the “American Psychiatric Association assures us abortion is a safe procedure with no negative effects on a man’s or a woman’s mental health.” (National Review, 5/4/11)
Post-abortive men and women can’t make sense of the fragments of their lives and when you have ‘experts’ calling us liars, it moves you further and further into the hole that’s been dug for you by Roe v. Wade and Hell itself. We deal with propaganda from the ‘abortion agenda’ daily and I TAKE IT PERSONALLY.
King David grieved for his child that died as a result of sin, “And he said, “While the child was alive, I fasted and wept; for I said, ‘Who can tell whether the LORD will be gracious to me, that the child may live?’ But now he is dead; why should I fast? Can I bring him back again? I shall go to him, but he shall not return to me.” 2Samuel 12:22-23, NKJV
David had comfort in knowing he would see his child again one day in Heaven. It was his reassurance that God did love him and his child and that His Will is Perfect.
The post-abortive man feels less of a man because he can’t control the loss of a child or the decision he made for his partner/spouse. What he needs to do is understand that his child is nestled with the Father. Since the loss of my child through abortion, I have not been comforted with booze or any other deliberate sin although I tried. But I am comforted by God’s forgiveness and that my child is with Him…and I will see her one day because of God’s mercy.
Minutes become hours, hours become days, days become months, months become years. My abortion, even after 33 years, will never leave my thoughts. My journey with this abominable decision has been up and down, mostly down until I came to know Jesus Christ as Lord. Until that day in December of 2001 I was under the convictions of my own mind, inspired by the pit of Hell. Satan demanded my life; Jesus demanded only my belief in His finished Work at the Cross. I found that to be much more palatable than an eternity of a living Hell.
‘For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for LIFE; Weeping may endure for a night, But joy comes in the morning.’ Psalm 30:5, NKJV
But can my sin be forgiven? Not only has my sin(s) been forgiven but they have been forgotten! My sin will never be held against me ever again! Jesus died for ALL of my sins, not just the wimpy ones.
I have days where I honestly wonder if I will ever get over my own sin. I sometimes can’t seem to put one foot in front of the other and hate getting up in the morning. Abortion always has at least two victims. My child is in Glory, thank God – but I’m still here baring the offense. But God is good!! His promises are sure.
‘For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.’ Jeremiah 29:11, NKJV
I am the Woman at the Well, going about my daily grind thinking about a life I can’t get out of the way of. It seems like a path that is set out for me, it’ll be all that I know. But Jesus is at the Well waiting for me…ME!! I am a sinful woman that has only known an idolatrous religion and lived life like it didn’t matter. But Jesus is at the Well waiting for ME!! Look at me…I’m so unworthy. But Jesus is at the Well waiting for ME!! And I will exalt Him to my peers and neighbors for He is good and He forgives ME!!!
I am restored because I know Jesus – but I need a shot in the arm now and then, I am human and I do grieve and hurt for what I did in my old life. I go to my Bible and read the Promises that God has given me because I believe in Him and not a world that still seeks to destroy me.
I thank God for his Mercy and His Son, Jesus Christ – my Lord.
‘Praise the LORD! Oh, give thanks to the LORD, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever.’ Psalm 106:1, NKJV
Abortion is an act of murder – Exodus 20:13, “You shall not murder.”
Abortion is the shedding of innocent blood – Proverbs 6:17, “These six things the LORD hates..…Hands that shed innocent blood.”
Abortion brings heartache and regret – Psalm 51:3, “For I acknowledge my transgressions, And my sin is always before me.”
Abortion stops a Plan of God – Jeremiah 1:5, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; Before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations.”
Abortion encourages sin – Ecclesiastes 8:11, “Because the sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil.”
The New Covenant makes it all real simple! Jesus said, “‘You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself’.”
A recent post on Facebook from an ardent Prolifer and sidewalk counselor said, “One of the moms who murdered her baby this morning had been given ‘assurance of salvation’ by her ‘church.’ She told me that she had ‘prayed about it,’ and was not to be judged by ‘legalism.’ Most of the people going into the abortuary this morning claimed to be Christians.”
“The Alan Guttmacher Institute tells us that 43% of aborting women identify themselves as Protestant, while 27% identify themselves as Catholic. If these numbers are accurate, that leaves us with the shocking conclusion that 70% of all abortions in the U.S. are performed on women who claim the name of Jesus Christ.” (Abort73.com)
Pastors, we need to talk.
Today, women and girls in the Church are struggling with or facing abortion. She will seek counsel with elders and pastors or church members she looks up to. Some will go to friends and family. Who will she listen to? Someone that will say it’ll be okay or listen to convicting counsel?
It’s not that easy anymore. Today’s church gives a message of hyper-grace that does not condemn sin but gives license to sin without responsibility.
Are Christians prolife?
“But the admission of abortion as a “tragic necessity” is also discouraging. It means that some people believe that abortion terminates a human life, and yet they still believe that there are circumstances under which this kind of killing should be sanctioned. I don’t know who scares me more – the abortion crusader who believes, against all the evidence, that the fetus is no more human than a blob of tissue, or the abortion advocate who believes fetuses may indeed be human persons and yet would still sanction an atrocious act of violence toward these helpless victims.” (Christianity.com)
Churches don’t preach on social issues enough and even believe that fornication and abortion can’t happen in their congregation; one of the reasons why Pastors think this is because they think that what comes out of their pulpit would keep women and girls from getting abortions OR fornicating. It’s a VERY arrogant stance on the Pastor’s part, to be sure. Apparently preaching SIN is not enough, Pastors and Preachers need to hit the nail on the head HARD in regard to fornication and the fruits of it, pregnancy.
Standing in the shadow of the Cross does not make you exempt from SIN.
There are too many Born-Again Christian women exemplifying a lifestyle that does not reflect a soul saved by Grace. Christian women, young and not so young, live with men or have sexual relationships with men without accountability and without the benefit of marriage. If there is no accountability, then abortion is just a liability of a life lived in sin.
“Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life.”
