[My Speech for Stand UP for Religious Freedom Rally – March 23, 2012]

I am Rev. Katherine Marple; I am a wife, mother and grandmother…AND I VOTE.

We are here today to oppose the new mandate from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services which is requiring all employers to provide FREE contraceptives, sterilization and abortion-inducing drugs through their health plans, even in violation of their religious beliefs.

And to be frank, this mandate is NOT FREE – WE THE PEOPLE will pay for these FREE anti-life services through higher insurance premiums. The current administration expects YOU to pay for what is ‘FREE’ so the government doesn’t have to.

This mandate is clearly unconstitutional.

Our founding fathers and framers birthed the United States of America for RELIGIOUS FREEDOM, so that we would have FREEDOM OF RELIGION, to live our religion not just in church but also at home and in the workplace.

The 1st Amendment of THE Constitution says, “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.”

Who would have thought that in this time and place that a President of these United States would force ANYONE to provide insurance for FREE birth control in spite of their religious beliefs or conscience?

Since when does the Constitution of these United States become allegory? And why should this alarm you? The beginning of socialism begins with quiet steps.

The Bible says, “For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Rom 8:38-39)

Birth control is not an innocent bit of medication that can be arbitrarily handed out like aspirin. Birth control can abort an unborn child – a fact that our current President CHOOSES to ignore.

This mandate is NOT women’s healthcare, this is an onslaught of self-righteous liberal propaganda and it’s targeting our daughters and granddaughters.

The Pill, Norplant, Depo-Provera, Plan B and the IUD, all common birth control, can in fact keep a brand new human embryo – an unborn baby – from attaching to the womb for nourishment. These drugs and devices alter the lining of the womb so that a recently conceived unborn child dies.

I know this to be true because it happened to me. I believed the LIE OF BIRTH CONTROL and my ‘doctor’, and used an IUD. After I became pregnant, our unborn baby was spontaneously aborted because the IUD does NOT keep a woman from becoming pregnant; it keeps the pregnancy from being sustained – thus, aborted. This was a hard lesson to learn and one that I want all women to know.

This is not a belief, this is a scientific fact that your current President chooses to ignore and is trying to force you – the American public – to pay for and provide against your RELIGIOUS BELIEFS AND CONSCIENCE.

At what point does the government start penalizing the birth of a child or rewards contraception, sterilization, or abortion? Is a two-child policy that far into the future? The beginning of socialism begins with quiet steps.

We are a free country because of our Founding Fathers, not in spite of them. Let FREEDOM RING – AND STAND UP FOR THE FIRST AMENDMENT RIGHT OF RELIGIOUS FREEDOM.

Watch out for ‘faith-based’ reproductive counseling. They are pro-choice, pro-abortion, pro-gay, pro-Obama bunch of incredibly nearsighted man-hating ‘women’. And somehow they have ascertained that God is okay with it.

The 501c3 Faith Aloud is a national spiritual counseling agency for women considering or choosing abortion and provides religious resources to abortion clinics:

‘Faith Aloud’ believes in the gift of sexuality, or fornication which makes abortion a natural for them. There is a photo of the executive director of Faith Aloud, THE ‘Reverend’ Rebecca Turner holding a sign that says, “I am Dr. Tiller”. In fact, Rebecca Turner was honored by the Abortion Care Network as the 2010 Person of the Year for offering innovative religious resources to professional abortion care providers.

There’s an Abortion Care Network? What necessitates that? Is it for who kills the most babies or does it with flair…? Here’s a clue: Leroy Carhart is on the board.

These soft-spoken women that calls themselves ‘Reverend’ are telling Christian women veiled, paraphrased scriptures to counsel them to abort and that God is just fine with it. That’s bad enough, but how stupid can a ‘Christian’ woman be to believe that God would sanctify such a thing? I’ll tell you how…because most Pastors have DROPPED THE BALL IN THE PULPIT.

KeepLifeLegal is a stalwart 40 Days for Life supporter, so this was particularly troubling, but Satan always has a counterfeit – “Faith Aloud created and distributed hundreds of DVDs of spiritual abortion counseling and tens of thousands of patient counseling cards for clinics. We initiated the alternative campaign “40 Days of Prayer to Keep Abortion Safe and Legal” and created posters for clinics to display when they are under siege by sidewalk bullies.”

Be very aware and wary of SO-CALLED faith-based reproductive counseling resources. They want your unborn baby and do it in the name of the Lord.

You know, I sometimes get my best subject matter from people that search KeepLifeLegal. It’s usually easy to see if it’s from ignorance, blatant stupidity or maybe just to be critical.

A person looking through my blog and others typed in the search box, “evolution of baby to humanhood”. WOW. If that doesn’t tell you a mindful of what that person believes…? I think this one falls into someone that was ignorant to LIFE issues and going prochoice.

The ‘searcher’ that said “evolution of baby to humanhood” clearly does not think a human being exists at conception but evolves to eventually be a human. I can remember when I was young, which was a very long time ago, being taught that embryos looked like tadpoles because that was the evidence of what we evolved from – single cell organisms to fish whose fins evolved into legs and gills that became lungs and just one day, walked right out of the water. Essentially, we were all some kind of amphibian bazillions of years ago from filth and mire. Somehow I don’t think that is in the image of God.

Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all[b] the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”  So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.  Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.” Genesis 1:26-28

Do you only know what you’re told, what you see on television, in newspapers, etc.? My husband and I were watching network television morning shows and I noted how ultra-liberal they all are. They demonize the unborn and the people that protect them, they criticize whoever supports Israel, mock God – over and over it’s all we see which means it’s all our kids see, too. That being said, how surprised should we be at the world for being this ignorant?

Ignorance can be cured, thankfully. As I’ve mentioned over and over, when you take GOD out of the equation, you have chaos. People consider what they ‘see’ and not what is tugging at their heart and morality. We, as a people, want to be accepted by others – but when they steer you in a direction that is gray to black, there is chaos. This is the place where all believers were at before knowing the Truth of the God of the Bible.

Where is GOD, you say….I say, LOOK FOR HIM.

(March 8, 2012)  ‘Dr.’ Katherine Hancock Ragsdale, president and dean of the Episcopal Divinity Church, testified at a House hearing on March 8, 2012 against a bill that would make it a federal crime to transport minor girls without parental consent across state lines to get an abortion. Ragsdale cited her vows as an Episcopal priest as the reason why she would “have no choice” but to break the law.

“I always find it a little unnerving when people tell me that to say that, you know, that someone taking a minor child of someone else’s across the state lines to perform – or having surgery performed upon them – that somehow, that it’s unconstitutional to recognize parents’ rights in that regard,” Subcommittee chairman Rep. Trent Franks (R-Ariz.) said. “It just astonishes me beyond comprehension.”

Comprehension? How can a ‘woman’ take another woman-to-be to have her unborn baby murdered and call it reproductive health care? And besides that, being a SO-CALLED minister that would even for a moment believe that LIFE is that unimportant? I’m glad that God is God and I am not…

(originally writtern 3/25/10)  The mother of a 15-year old girl recently discovered that Ballard High School (Seattle, WA) helped her daughter get an abortion and never informed her…..when the 15-year old girl’s pregnancy was confirmed, they counseled her on the options. The mother says they encouraged her to have an abortion and not tell her parents. She claims her daughter was told that if she informed her parents they would have to pay for the abortion, otherwise it’s free….. the girl was called a taxi and transported by herself to a clinic to have her abortion then driven back to finish her school day, officials say that’s not unusual. The ACLU, Planned Parenthood, NARAL and the like believe that it is the right of a MINOR CHILD to have an abortion. Your minor child, my minor child can walk into an abortion clinic and get an abortion without a parent’s consent or knowledge. And let me enlighten you…there are laws in every state that mandate certain attributes to abortion law, such as waiting periods BUT everyone of those fought-for-laws can be overturned on a case by case basis. Do not be deceived: a minor can get an abortion at anytime at any age in any state and you would never ever know.

If this isn’t heinous enough, a person that is a priest of the Episcopal Church has personally helped minor girls to get birth control and abortions without their parent’s knowledge and considers herself a SAVIOR of sorts! Read on:

Katherine Hancock Ragsdale is an Episcopal Priest, an OUTLOUD lesbian and pro-abortion card carrying feminist who served for 17 years (8 as chair) on the national board of the Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice. She also serves on the board of NARAL: Pro-Choice America, The White House Project and the Progressive Religious Partnership. She has testified before the United States Congress as well as numerous state legislatures, and is a widely sought speaker on public policy issues affecting women, professional ethics, and lesbian/gay rights. She serves as Vicar of St. David’s Church in Pepperell, MA; and is the editor of Boundary Wars: Intimacy and Distance in Healing Relationships.”

From her own testimony to the Senate Committee June 3, 2004:  “I recall vividly a day when I left my home near Cambridge, Massachusetts, and drove to one of the economically challenged cities to the north of me to pick up a fifteen-year-old girl and drive her to Boston for an 8 a.m. appointment for an abortion. I didn’t know the girl – I knew her school nurse. The nurse had called me a few days earlier to see if I knew where she might find money to give the girl for bus fare to and cab fare home from the hospital. I was stunned – a fifteen-year-old girl was going to have to get up at the crack of dawn and take multiple buses to the hospital alone? The nurse shared my concern but explained that the girl had no one to turn to. She feared for her safety if her father found out and there was no other relative close enough to help. There was no one to be with her. So I went….Then I took her inside and turned her over to some very kind nurses. I went downstairs to get a couple of prescriptions filled for her. I paid for the prescriptions after I was informed that they’d either need the girl’s father’s signature in order to charge them to his insurance, or the completion of a pile of forms that looked far too complex for any fifteen-year-old to have to deal with.”

If that were my daughter, she’d find herself in prison meeting new and interesting friends.

Interesting week in prolife, indeed.

Our local 40 Days for Life was blessed to have a candlelight service with Dr. Brian Clowes as our speaker. Brian and his wife, Kathleen combined have over 50 years of pro-life experience, ranging from rescues, sidewalk counseling to counseling pregnant women and assisting in litigation against abortionists. He was inspiring and very personable. Our core team did a great job in getting everything in a row but no one could have stopped the wind – our candles kept going out. But we were unmoved, thank God! My little church came with Pastor in tow and even gave a word. I’m very proud of my Pastor getting to know the prolife world and wanting to be a big part of it. It’s exactly what every church should want to be – preaching the Message of LIFE from the pulpit.

We tend to forget that the 40 Days for Life movement is meant for everyone, not just Evangelicals; not just Catholics…it’s an ecumenical group of all lovers of the Message of LIFE. We come together to pray for the moms and dads that come to the clinic for abortions, we pray for the pregnant coerced teens that are being taken in these places by their moms and dads, we pray for the abortion workers, we pray for those that drive by and see us in prayer….because EVERYONE has been touched by the evil hand of abortion.

Regarding Post Abortive women:  A respected medical journal is distancing itself from a controversial study it published that established a link between abortion and mental illness. Really. I wonder how many actual real life post abortive women conducted this study.

A picture worth a 1000 words:  Abdominal ultrasounds for women seeking abortions in Virginia will become mandatory under a bill signed into law Wednesday by the state’s Republican governor who had faced a national uproar when earlier versions of the measure had sought to make the exams medically invasive. The old bait and switch still works…

In the ARE YOU KIDDING ME file:  Maryland prosecutors on Tuesday dismissed murder charges against two out-of-state abortion doctors, citing conflicts in expert testimony. Cecil County State’s Attorney Ellis Rollins announced the dismissal of all charges against Drs. Steven C. Brigham of Voorhees, and Nicola Riley of Salt Lake City, Utah. Conflict? Does not a dead child make the case?

My dear Prolife friends, STAND FAST! We are making headway, lives are being saved, but not near enough. Please continue to pray and be in supplication, talk to your Pastor or Priest about speaking LIFE from the pulpit, and never NEVER back down. Our unborn are too important!

By today (3/1/12), there have been a reported 101 unborn babies saved from abortion during this 2012 Spring Campaign. And praise GOD for that! Through prayer, fasting and diligence we have seen lives saved and people’s lives changed. Being a godly presence that typifies the spirit of LIFE brings us all together for the lives of the unborn and the workers that are beleaguered into believing they are doing the ‘right thing’.  

As encouraging as it seems that over 100 children have been saved from slaughter, much has happened in the fight for Life in our statehouses; some good, some not so good.

Ohio:  Abortion opponents are urging lawmakers to strip funding from 32 Planned Parenthood clinics in Ohio. The 32 clinics received about $1.7 million in public funding last year and served nearly 100,000 patients. And tax payers paid for it.

After-birth Abortion:  ‘A serious philosophical problem arises when the same conditions that would have justified abortion become known after birth. In such cases, we need to assess facts in order to decide whether the same arguments that apply to killing a human fetus can also be consistently applied to killing a newborn human.’ Understand, eugenics is a reality, not a supposition.

Virginia:  The intent of the recently passed ultrasound bill was to ensure that women would be fully informed about the gestational age of their unborn babies as they make up their minds whether to abort or not. It is a woman’s right to know that they are carrying a baby, not a legislative body’s right to make it a blob.

Girl Scouts:  Did you get the cookies you ordered? GREAT! You just funded Planned Parenthood.

Washington D.C.:  Planned Parenthood president Cecile Richards urged nearly 1,700 United Auto Workers members and retirees to work to re-elect President Barack Obama and other allies… “President Obama stood with us and we are going to stand with him,” Richards said. The women’s health group has been heavily attacked by Republicans in Congress and GOP presidential candidates. “We didn’t pick these fights, but by God, we’re going to win.” I’m not sure who her ‘god’ is, but the GOD of the Bible will not stand still for the outright murder of His Creation OR misusing His Name.

Beloved, the ‘least of these’ are very precious to GOD and will not be ignored by Him. His creation is in His image, not some arbitrary afterthought. We are fearfully and wonderfully made…all of us, born and unborn.

Pray to end abortion.

The 2012 Spring Campaign for 40 Days for Life starts Wednesday, February 22…what are you going to do for the next 40 days? 

KeepLifeLegal is a huge supporter of 40 Days for Life and their fight to save the unborn from a brutal death called abortion. 4o Days for Life promotes closing down clinics with prayer and fasting, not violence.

In the Cincinnati-Dayton-Springfield-Lebanon loop, there are at least 7 Planned Parenthood clinics that either perform or refer abortion services as well as another 20 clinic-centers that will perform or refer abortions, plan-b and RU486. Abortions are performed up to 24 weeks.

However, there are a lot less crisis pregnancy centers offering counseling and referring pre-natal care. Easily, the reason is this: the government will give you money for your clinic…as long as you OFFER abortion information, services or referrals. So, the money that these Christ-centered crisis pregnancy centers have is donated from loving people and churches that believe life begins at conception. Government funding of abortion clinics needs to be removed from further legislation. I say let abortion clinics fend for themselves. Right now, taxpayers – you and I – are funding abortion clinics because of the Roe v. Wade decision and the subsequent legislation that followed.

There needs to be an awakening to the reality that abortion is the deliberate ending of a human life.

Proverbs 3:5 says, ‘Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding’, NKJV. It means simply this: Do not trust what the world tells you is okay to do or think, trust in what God says to your heart. Abortion is murder, plain and simple.

Why are you so surprised about Komen backing out? Interestingly, there is no reason why Komen and Planned Parenthood should have ever hooked up; senseless. I’m still trying to figure out why this whole Komen phenomenon ever happened in the first place. To my knowledge, there is still the American Cancer Society – if you feel burdened to give money to benefit a cure for cancer, rather than giving your money to baby killers.

Being Post Abortive, I know the need to heal but I also know that I have a need to share this grief with others. As a nation we have been so desensitized by Roe v. Wade and the subsequent actions by those that devalue LIFE. Today, there are more of us than them and we are still ruled by THEM. My expression of post abortion grief is not acceptable; it’s thought of as unnecessary. It is a constitutional right to abort, but not a constitutional right to grieve the loss of an aborted child out loud, whether in the media, in church or on the street corner.

Like most Post Abortive women, I hid my grief and my failure from everyone. No woman wants to say out loud that their sin brought them to a point that they would kill their unborn child, as if to put a period on the end of a sentence. But it wasn’t that simple, like all prochoicers will have you believe – abortion was not an answer to any situation for any reason.

If you think about it clearly, abortion was brought about not just to exterminate what Sanger called ‘inferiors’, abortion was a wealthy woman’s way of hiding illicit affairs and a wealth man’s way of hiding their sin from their families. Abortion was a friend to the wealthy. The shame of hiding abortion is greater than the short fix of a bad situation. Not so long ago Planned Parenthood was yet again in the spotlight for having covered up an abortion for a minor girl whose adult boyfriend dropped her off and paid for the procedure. Covering up statutory rape is a crime in this country, but not the abortion. As time goes on, these post abortive lives are peppered with tiny bits of what our children would have been – a son or daughter, a friend, maybe someone that would have saved someone else’s life.

Your constitutional right to grieve the loss of your aborted child is not welcome by our society, but GOD wants to heal you and wants to take your grief away:

“The LORD builds up Jerusalem; He gathers together the outcasts of Israel. He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. He counts the number of the stars; He calls them all by name. Great is our Lord, and mighty in power; His understanding is infinite. The LORD lifts up the humble; He casts the wicked down to the ground.” Psalm 147:2-6, NKJV

Unresolved grief is like a cancer. Grief is personal, grief can be indefinite. My constitutional right to grieve the loss of my aborted child is being taken away and replaced with liberal half-truths to blatant lies.

It’s time to grieve out loud. Abortion has a face – and that face is mine.
