From the Thomas More Law Center:  The U. S. Supreme Court announced on Monday that it has denied a request to review a Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals decision that upheld the constitutional rights of pro-life activists to display graphic photos of aborted babies on the public streets in California.  The Supreme Court’s decision cements a victory for the pro-life cause.

In the opinion written by Judge Harry Pregerson, who is considered by many to be one of the most liberal judges in the Ninth Circuit, and supported by Judges William A. Fletcher and Marsha S. Berzon, the Court ruled that “the government cannot silence messages simply because they cause discomfort, fear, or even anger.”  Pro-life activists had a constitutional right to display large graphic photos of aborted babies.

I love seeing First Amendment rights upheld! Way too many times is that used for everyone else, everywhere else for everything else:

“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.”

Do I agree with seeing huge placards dotting the landscape with aborted babies on them? It’s not something I want to see but it may be to someone that is considering abortion or know someone who is.

Think of it this way – Everyone LOVES Jesus! But, no one wants to understand why or how He died for us. They just want the benefits of His death and Resurrection. His head was jammed with thorns, His back scourged, bloodied and beaten, left to die. He died that we may have Freedom.

Ooops…I started preaching…

Anyway, these victories may seem small and not-so significant now, but they are HUGE in the future and in the eyes of God. Little by little we are gaining ground in the fight against abortion. We just need to keep the Faith.
