In the middle of the country, there is a place where there is farm after farm, a Rockwell-like atmosphere where life takes its time, baseball is king and county fair competition is fierce. Summer nights are clear and warm and Sunday is the best day of the week. Families gather on front porches to hear the older folk talk and reminisce of days gone by. It’s idyllic in a kind of Field of Dreams sort of way.

But in the heart of the ‘heartland’ of America, there is a place where there is no rest, no place of safety for children that aren’t perfect in the eyes of the world, the eyes of the mother.

Bellevue Clinic
Bellevue Clinic

Welcome to Bellevue, Nebraska, a suburb of Omaha…and to the Abortion and Contraception Clinic of Nebraska; Dr. LeRoy Carhart, Proprietor.

The law is what it is, a law that was used as a long-arm tactic by the extreme Left back in 1973. The Roe v. Wade decision was left in such a way by lawmakers to have loop holes big enough to continue this evil called abortion and someday the reality of aborting viable pre-born children at will. That day is not only here, but has been for a long time. It’s a law of convenience, a law of the sober reality that perfection and selfishness is more important than the life of a helpless child.

Nebraska law has such loop holes; reflecting the 1973 Roe v. Wade ruling by the U.S. Supreme Court, which appears to allow the third-trimester abortions.

Greg Schleppenbach of the Nebraska Catholic Conference said third-trimester abortions, like all others, are wrong — even if the unborn child would not survive. “We don’t kill people who are terminally ill,” Schleppenbach said. “Why would we kill an unborn child that is terminally ill?”

“I’m disgusted and saddened,”Attorney General Jon Bruning said, calling one of the exceptions so wide you can drive a truck through it.   These exceptions were provided in the landmark Roe v. Wade decision that canuphold abortion rights for third-trimester abortions at Carhart’s Bellevue clinic.

Attorney General Bruning cited the two exceptions:  First, Nebraska law says an abortion cannot be performed if an unborn child appears to have clearly reached viability outside the womb. In other words, it would allow an abortion if the fetus could not survive.  Second, the law also provides for an abortion to save the life or health of the mother. This second exception will be interpreted to preserve the mental health of the mother; the same excuse the abortion industry uses to continue its holocaust and tyranny against children.

This Dr. LeRoy Carhart is going to perform 3rd trimester abortions, he says temporarily, until he can open a clinic in Kansas where the law is bit more lax. Tiller’s ex-employees have expressed a desire to continue the death business with Dr. Carhart.

I guess the lesson from Tiller’s death will go unheeded. I can’t remember the last time a dermatologist was shot to death…
