The Beauty of the Married Woman

1Peter 3:3-4 says, (v3)‘Do not let your adorning be external—the braiding of hair and the putting on of gold jewelry, or the clothing you wear— (v4)but let your adorning be the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God’s sight is very precious.’

The world thinks jewels are precious; God considers precious the jewel of a gentle and quiet spirit*. Bathsheba reiterated, ‘An excellent wife who can find? She is far more precious than jewels’** and ‘Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised’.***

Eve was ideally made for Adam; as well, Woman was created specifically for Man. Eve completed Adam – woman completes man. Adam and Eve are equal before God. Cultures of this current world do not revere women. Pagan ‘religion’ tends to fuel and encourage the devaluation of women since the fall of man in the Garden of Eden. Pagan rituals have always involved women and children at the hand of a man that does not know the Lord.

Brave woman of God, we live in a world where Godly, happily married women are hardly accepted much less revered. God gave women the awesome task and privilege of birthing children for our husbands; we women are givers of life. Then…why do we take life? We take (or have taken) life because we are selfish and Godless – we want our adorning to be external. Can we be so horribly mislead that we would take the life of our own child? YES.

Since the fall of man, we have sin. Sin breeds adultery and promiscuity and a Godless society. Sin has a consequence, and that consequence might be a child not intended. These so called ‘unwanted’ children are usually a result of a relationship outside of marriage; 83% are unmarried, 16% are separated or divorced, and a meager 1% are from women that are happily (at least marginally) married. There you have it…married women don’t kill their unborn children. Sex was meant to be within the boundaries of marriage ONLY, ‘Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the marriage bed be undefiled, for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterous’.****

Taking a child’s life for the sake of outward beauty and ease of one’s life is abominable. Women give life, women should never allow it to be taken it away. It’s up to you, brave woman of God…let your heart be changed by the conviction of the Holy Spirit that you may heal.
