My husband preached a message called ‘Are You Rapture Ready’ last night and how close we are to the coming of Christ. And my husband was right, we need to get back to the basics of ministry to bring in the harvest, not entertain it – we are asleep in a modern church that does not preach beyond getting saved, if at all.
THE QUESTION IS THIS: ARE YOU RAPTURE READY?
I would have never thought that the ‘new normal’ for women is being post-abortive. But stats show that 43% of women under 50 years old are post-abortive and half are more than once. Being Prolifers, we aspire to save unborn babies from abortion death. Being in Prolife Ministry is quite different – we are just as concerned about the soul of the pre-abortive and post-abortive moms and dads because they are on the cusp of making OR has made a decision that will change their lives forever. These men and women, even boys and girls, go in and out of abortion facilities EVERYDAY and little notice is given to their eternal soul. But one day I received a call from a faithful sidewalk counselor/minister who was at the abortion facility; she said that a young woman got an abortion and asked her this question:
“WILL I GO TO HELL FOR GETTING AN ABORTION?”
‘For God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ.’ (1Thessalonians 5:9, NKJV)
This post-abortive woman was worried about going to hell! Now, that does NOT happen every day! Most of the newly post-abortive women that leave that place are usually not very concerned about their eternal soul. God used this one woman to re-open my eyes to the real need of these women – THEY NEED TO BE MINISTERED TO.
It’s easy to get distracted with our daily lives, but every day people die, most not knowing the LORD, spending an eternity they unknowingly chose because no one shared the Gospel with them.
THEN THE QUESTION IS THIS: ARE YOU RAPTURE READY?
Case in point: There is a man that is an Associate Vice President at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Sounds pretty cool, eh? You would think that a person of this ‘stature’ in the Church would know many things about the Bible, the Church, etc. On his blog was this statement regarding the content of his site: ‘Casual Contemplations on Christ and Culture’. CASUAL CONTEMPLATIONS ON CHRIST AND CULTURE….just making sure you were paying attention. This is why the Church is sound asleep; it’s killing itself with subjective worldly rhetoric and nonsensical junk that is entertaining the troops instead of making soldiers of Christ. Is this man ‘rapture ready’? Only God knows because the evidence is unclear.
ARE YOU RAPTURE READY?
If your church is not teaching this, ask your Pastor why. But if he won’t, find a new church….because you affect others around you, you have a responsibility to know this and to be ready to give an answer when the question is asked, ‘Am I Rapture Ready?’
‘Now we exhort you, BRETHREN, warn those who are unruly, comfort the fainthearted, uphold the weak, be patient with all.’ (1Thessalonians 5:14, NKJV)
