Everyday we make decisions. Today possibly MILLIONS of women, men and children stood in line HOURS before sunrise to catch the best deals for Christmas gifts….HOURS….for a GIFT. Besides the fact that Christmas has been perverted with commercialism, we have these shopping minions that save for months to buy Christmas for people that will forget what they got a week later. It’s a sad and sorrowful thing to see people fight over JUNK.
Friends, we are forgetting the ‘least of these’.
A friend posted a status that read:
“WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF MY FB FRIENDS BOUGHT A PAIR OF KIDS, WOMEN OR MENS PJS ON SALE AT TARGET FOR A FAMILY IN NEED AT A SHELTER?..ITS THE LITTLE THINGS THAT’S WE TAKE FOR GRANTED THAT PEOPLE ARE THANKFUL FOR!!!”
And another read:
“Consider designating some of your Christmas shopping money to supporting your local pro-life organizations who fight tirelessly to ensure that every baby gets a first Christmas.”
While the shopping minions are battling each other for JUNK, they could be getting warm clothes, socks and underwear for those in shelters or on the street. People are LIVING in the streets of every city without food, shelter, warm clothes or HOPE. No one is going to do it for you.
Even worse yet, today ALONE 4000 unborn children will die from abortion death. EVERYDAY I watch ‘women’ go into our local abortion facility with Louis Vuitton bags, Coach bags, UGG boots, designer skinny jeans and expertly salon-coiffed hair saying they can’t afford a baby.
It has not gone unnoticed how we view Christmas time in the United States. How hard would it be to spend and extra $20 for the ‘least of these’? How has this nation become a people with a black heart of compromise?
Jesus mentioned our neglect for the sick, poor, prisoners, naked, strangers, and the hungry:
v41 “Then He will also say to those on the left hand, ‘Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels: v42 for I was hungry and you gave Me no food; I was thirsty and you gave Me no drink; v43 I was a stranger and you did not take Me in, naked and you did not clothe Me, sick and in prison and you did not visit Me.’
v44 “Then they also will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to You?’ v45 Then He will answer them, saying, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.’” [Matthew 25:41-45]
This Christmas season, a time day set aside to remember the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ, PLEASE consider giving some your time and gift money to prolife MINISTRIES and Christian ministries that help clothe and feed the homeless. We cannot compromise ourselves for the ultimate Christmas gift rather than giving back of our abundance.
Jesus used the example of the Widow who gave of her LACK: “v42 Then one poor widow came and threw in two mites, which make a quadrans. v43 So He called His disciples to Himself and said to them, “Assuredly, I say to you that this poor widow has put in more than all those who have given to the treasury; v44 for they all put in out of their abundance, but she out of her poverty put in all that she had, her whole livelihood.” [Mark 12:42-44]
