Sometimes, even I can’t make sense of life. Or loss of life, I should say. I shake my head, I pray, I mourn. As a minister, I know the answer – it is the process of it all that can be incomprehensible.
In the last few weeks, our large church family lost three members, stalwarts in the faith, crazy amazing testimonies, true love of God and family and church.
A woman who was part of the church for 25+ years, died from covid complications.
A man who had a large company used his money to literally go into all the world and preach the Gospel, died from a long battle with cancer.
A man with a large family, successful in all aspects, children in ministry, died from complications from a heart transplant.
Everyone dies. But these great people died well, in the faith, never sacrificing their beliefs. These three faith heroes died hard deaths. I cannot imagine what they must have gone through. During their lives they had kairos moments, they had joy, they had disappointments, they had a church family that loved and respected them. Ultimately, they found their Lord and Savior waiting with open arms despite all of the pain and sorrow of dying: “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” [2Tim 4:7]
I can only imagine it. But to address my first sentence, there really is much sense to this.
There is no partiality with God. Rich or poor, the sting of death is equal.
Because of the fall of Man, we will have disease and sickness.
And if you accept Jesus, Heaven will be your home, pain and sorrow free. That makes the process of LIFE an adventure and precious…and every moment counts. This life is our path to Him, and our chosen Eternity: “For whoever callson the name of theLordshall be saved.” [Romans 10:13]
This is a Pastors Guide to teaching and preaching about abortion in the pulpit, the media and social media utilizing the Bible as the guide to all matters. Any Pastor that relies on a person’s opinion rather than the entirety of Scripture needs to hand in his/her ordination. That being said, understanding the Pastoral Letters [1&2 Timothy, Titus] should make the Pastor [and staff] completely understand why there is no room for ‘opinion’ or ‘exceptions’ to scripture.
Just as any Minister, I am ordained by a ministry/church that I trusted and loved. Imagine my surprise and heartbreak to know that a lead Pastor and some Associate Pastors believe that abortion is ever reasonable. I would not have believed it myself until I heard it with my own ears in the pulpit during a worldwide church service, which set on the ears of perhaps MILLIONS.
This Pastor said, “Abortion is MURDER!” and followed up with “except to save the life of the mother.” I was devastated, disappointed and MAD. How dare he say he is prolife when it is quite apparent that he is pro-abortion? By saying this, he opened the door wide to many accepting abortion rather than against it. Any exception to any rule leads people in the direction of the exception. And lest we forget, exceptions make that person and Pastor AS God, rather than letting God BE God.
The Church should be the child’s champion, not executioner.
I go to the Word of God, just as any Minister or Child of God should do. The reason why the Church is an absolute mess is because of ‘exceptions’ to the Word of God, the rule of Scripture. And by that I mean accepting homosexuality and abortion knowing full well the Bible teaching against sexual sin and murder.
Nope, this ain’t rocket science…just Bible. All of it. NOT deviating from it. THAT is why I am a Minister, protecting what is pure and good and perfect.
1Timothy 6:3-5 says:
v3 If anyone teaches otherwise and does not consent to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which accords with godliness, v4 he is proud, knowing nothing, but is obsessed with disputes and arguments over words, from which come envy, strife, reviling, evil suspicions, v5 useless wranglings of men of corrupt minds and destitute of the truth, who suppose that godliness is a means of gain. From such withdraw yourself.
Verse 3 is quite clear about teaching ‘otherwise’, exceptions, straying from the truth for any reason.
Verse 4 indicates that pride protects the sin & sinner with acceptance which causes confusion.
Verse 5 makes it quite clear that if there is no resolution with this Pastor, turn away. Find yourself another Church/Pastor that agrees and teaches the entire Word of God without exception.
The Pastoral Letters were written to Pastors for a reason. There were problems with many Churches in the beginning of the Church Age because many went back to or mingled with what was not of God. These things were addressed in the New Testament because the purity of the Gospel was being perverted even at such an early time. Obviously, this has not changed much with ‘churches’ popping up everywhere calling themselves ‘accepting’ without properly evangelizing the lost.
Straying from any biblical truth is dangerous and prideful, even if without proper teaching, “…although I was formerly a blasphemer, a persecutor, and an insolent man; but I obtained mercy because I did it ignorantly in unbelief,” [1Tim 1:13]. Of course we want to let the Pastor/Church know that even in ignorance, the scriptures should always be searched diligently to have the correct answer to any question. But not all Pastors/Churches wish to acknowledge their lack of biblical wisdom, but rather keep their opinion because of their pride. It is quite clear that this Pastor that I’ve spoken of is protecting the sin of abortion because of an abortion he has intimate knowledge of. No one can be that vehement of something without being privy to it.
And finally, 1Timothy 3:5 says, “…for if a man does not know how to rule his own house, how will he take care of the church of God?” As I mentioned above, this Pastor, and a plethora of others, lean on exceptions to protect the sin and sinner. And if they find that to be acceptable in their own house, how can the ever lead a congregation of people who trust him/her?
To summarize the sin of abortion exception and acceptance, Pastors should remember that a child martyred for the mother’s life – or anyone else – still goes through a heinous death of their skull being crushed, arms and legs being torn off, and their tiny, beating heart left to stop beating on a cold stainless steel table…and their final resting place in an incinerator or being dumped in a landfill.
In this study, we will look at the sin of abortion from the unsaved pro-abortion side, starting with the altar of Molech. Molech sacrificed children to another god, or rather he sacrificed against the one true God, murdering His creation. This evil sin of child killing was addressed in Leviticus 18:21, “And you shall not let any of your descendants pass through the fire to Molech, not shall you profane the name of your God: I am the Lord.”
God made it clear that it was as profane to kill these children upon the altar of Molech as it is to profane the name of God; He associates Himself with His Creation, and killing any of them is as killing Him. These children were a literal burnt offering to a false god, much like today as the unborn are murdered upon the altar of the false god of abortion.
Is abortion a religion? Yes. Anything can be a religion, which was addressed in the second commandment, “You shall have no other gods before Me,” Exodus 20:3. Interestingly, the definition of religion, in part, says: “a set of beliefs concerning the cause, nature, and purpose of the universe, especially when considered as the creation of a superhuman agency or agencies, usually involving devotional and ritual observances, and often containing a moral code governing the conduct of human affairs.” Read the entire definition here. NOT ONE TIME was God or Jesus mentioned in that, which proves religion has absolutely NOTHING to do with God or Jesus.
Abortion is a religion, with their own gods and worship and devoted followers. Abortion’s ancestry is rooted in the ritualistic burnt offering of children upon an altar of a false god as worship, as it is today.
Today, the religious continues to kill through abortion, believing in their sin rather than the one true God. “…Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?“ Romans 6:1. They make an idol out of abortion, they worship it and love it. With every religion, there is an idol, a false ‘god’. Making an idol out of anything is making a religion, a thing that is unholy, to preserve a sin to somehow make it ‘holy’. Their religion of abortion – God calls it sin – continues because they believe in a false god, a false grace, a false hope, a false redemption, that it is sanctified by their personal ‘god’.
Conversely, some professing Christians
hold onto another Jesus, another Gospel, another grace, another cross, rather than the Cross of Christ when excusing abortion. A recent story said that a Pastor was witnessing outside of an abortion mill when a woman came for an appointment whose family is a member of his church. He knew her personally, even baptized her. Then, why was she there? She heard the Gospel and the message of life, and still she came for an abortion appointment. Whose God does she believe?
“What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid,” Romans 6:15. But that is exactly what happened, she and many other professing Christians put their unborn child upon the altar of abortion because they believe the false god and it’s false grace. I know people in Gospel preaching churches that will sin because they have hope in another Jesus, another Gospel, that sin will be forever hidden and even sanctified. Being hidden is not accurate because the Bible says “But if you do not do so, then take note, you have sinned against the Lord; and be sure your sin will find you out,” (Numb 32:23.) And while it is true that a woman can be forgiven of her abortion sin, there will still be consequences of that sin, for a time that can take years.
“Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap,” Galatians 6:7. Christian men and women who “neglect so great a salvation” put themselves on that same altar as their unborn child. They know the Way, ignore it, and expect not to have consequences – results – from the sin of abortion.
Friends, this is just not that hard. God has NEVER changed, not for any person or any thing or any law: “For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life,” (Gal 6:8). The One True God calls abortion sin an abomination. God does not cause confusion, but gives us hope and love and Jesus, “For God is not the author of confusion but of peace, as in all the churches of the saints,” (1Cor 14:33).
The author of confusion – the devil himself – puts false gods before us to frustrate our relationship with God and cause us to sin. Abortion is the god of many, a religion that is vast, holy to those who admire and worship it. But it’s consequence is eternal.
“But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him,” (1Cor 8:6).
We are continuing our Bible Study regarding Biblical prolife ministry and rescues. Click here to read the previous post. And so that there is no mistake of who we are and what we do, please read part of our Mission Statement:
KeepLifeLegal is a part of the Prolife Movement basing our missions in prolife ministry using biblical standards, not denominational or religious man-made dogma. We base this ministry on the Word of God only, through correct discernment of Scripture. We are ordained ministers/preachers/pastors; we are determined to show how public outreach and rescuing is biblical, a work of action and love. As the Book of Acts has proven and continues to demonstrate, it is a book and work without end, until the Gospel has been preached to all.
The Bible says: “Your glorying is not good. Do you not know that a little leaven leavens the whole lump? Therefore purge out the old leaven, that you may be a new lump, since you truly are unleavened. For indeed Christ, our Passover, was sacrificed for us,” [1Cor 5:5-7].
The new passive aggressive prolife movement is prideful and religious, neither of which is biblical or sanctified. Leaders of these cult-like prolife groups are putting their ill-conceived schemes in front of biblical standards, those that Jesus taught, the Apostles continued with, even to this day. While the arrogance of a few has tarnished the prolife message, it is those called by God to do this Ministry which will promote LIFE and love.
God is not impressed with this new passive aggressive prolife movement. The biggest mistake they have made is not having the mind of Christ: “But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. But he who is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is rightly judged by no one. For ‘who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct Him’?But we have the mind of Christ,” [1Cor 2:14-16].
To understand 1Cor 2:14-16 better, realize that the city of Corinth in that day was like the Las Vegas of today; idolatrous, pagan, carnal, and had temples with ‘consecrated’ prostitutes. The Apostle Paul planted a church squarely in the middle of that mire knowing it would have it’s challenges because of the city and the sin raging within it. Corinth needed the Gospel message, it needed the Mind of Christ, it needed a Savior.
After the church in Corinth was established, it was soon showing signs of the leaven leaking back in trying to confuse and pull back the new believers to their former debauched lives. The church in Corinth misunderstood the Gospel message, much like this new prolife movement has done with the Gospel message of prolife ministry to save the lost and dying at all costs. Prolife ministry in the beginning was Christ-centered and selfless. Today, the new passive aggressive prolifers are dressed up as if it’s Easter Sunday, not Resurrection Day. They do not have the mind of Christ, but has many followers, board members and donors.
The new passive aggressive prolife movement has left the Gospel message “Nevertheless I have this against you, that you have left your first love,” [Rev 2:4]. And I say that wondering if they ever knew their first love. I follow the evidence, look for results, seeing none within this new prolife movement. There is no Gospel, no Jesus, no LIFE or love.
“Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal,”[1Cor 13:1].
Love took our Savior to the Cross. Love put the Apostles in prison multiple times for doing the unlawful. Out of fear and doubt, love is not where this new passive aggressive prolife movement is today. Rather, they are a ‘safe place’ because that’s where fear wants YOU.
“For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ. And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works,”[2Cor 11:13-15].
This has been an interesting thing for me. I’ve pondered and considered everything, all the prolife movement has to offer. And it pains me to even think this out loud, but the 40 Days for Life model does not work, and it wasn’t set up to.
Now, while a bunch of my friends are gasping at this, I must try to explain this as simply as I can without pointing persecuting fingers at anyone or any entity. Look, the people who participate in 40DFL are gems. Truly. But if I only see you during 40DFL, then this has become a dismal failure.
I loved 40DFL. I found it online in 2008. I saw this term I never heard before, post-abortive. It was like looking into a mirror, I got it. I needed it. But after all these years, I finally had to take a hard look at 40DFL. I did not like what I saw.
For the most part, and I mean MOST, people who participate in 40DFL will only come during their allotted time they signed up for and when the campaign is over, that’s it. We don’t see them until the next campaign. WHY? Well, as an ex-catholic, I’m pretty sure I know the answer: It’s works based rather than Holy Spirit led.
The 40DFL model has never said they advocate for any one religion. However, they have not done what they should to bring more Evangelical Christians [Baptist, COG, AG, etc.] or Protestant Christians [Episcopal, UMC, Lutheran, etc.], if anything at all. Everything has been Catholic based, and if the Spring Campaigns haven’t proven that starting off on Ash Wednesday, then you aren’t paying attention. And for this, I blame 40DFL for passively advocating for Catholics rather than Evangelical Christians. 40DFL has chased away Evangelicals and Protestants because they see 40DFL as Catholic only. Maybe 40DFL assumed that Evangelicals follow Catholic traditions? Rather, we simply follow the Bible and the Holy Spirit, not a liturgy or sabbath keeping or sacraments.
The model was supposed to bring more people to the sidewalk of abortion mills with the intent of showing folks that they are needed year round. But for the most part, and I mean MOST, that has not happened. The 40DFL model is supposed to attract more participants, all of us, and show us that we are needed to shut down abortion mills. 40DFL – and other prolife groups – like to take all the glory when a mill shuts down, but the truth is that graphic public outreaches work which takes abortion money away, or maybe the law was finally in our favor.
Last campaign, it was quite obvious that 40DFL tried to ‘own’ the sidewalk for the 40 days campaigns; no graphic images, not allowed to openly advocate for rescues, speakers had to be some kind of androgynous 40DFL approved prolifer, etc. As an Evangelical Christian, that binds the hands of God from doing with us His Will.
Prayer and passivity [acceptance of what happens, without active response or resistance] is the 40DFL model, and that is exactly what they got…and continue to get. Passivity has never won one soul to Heaven but it will send someone straight to hell. Other outreach models DO work, ones that preach the Gospel, share Jesus, and loves someone enough to tell them they are wrong and need a Savior.
So I suppose the moral of this story is this: 40DFL is not going to change, neither is there model. It’s the 80/20 rule, only 20% or less will continue being on the sidewalk all year. That is a awful shame.
