The forgotten First Amendment

Or, Excuse me, Sir, but you have just stepped on my Civil Liberties!

The First Amendment of the Bill of Rights says:  ‘Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.’

“As a conservative Christian, I firmly believe the homosexual lifestyle is morally wrong, and my blog posting sought to emphasize there are economic and public policy implications to widespread and open acceptance of this lifestyle,” said Bert Chapman, a Purdue University professor, who blogs as the “conservative librarian” at www.townhall.com.

I am a Conservative Christian in doctrine and in a standard of living ordained by God, not the world. Being a Conservative Christian means understanding and living by every word written in the Bible, not just selected bits and pieces of it. That being said, some would say that the Levitical Law was under Grace after Christ’s death on the Cross. When it comes to the homosexual lifestyle, nothing can be further from the truth, read Romans 1:16-32*(see ref).

From IndyStar:  A Purdue University professor has landed in hot water with students protesting his personal blog — a conservative Web page on which he posted an ‘economic case against homosexuality.’ Some have called for Bert Chapman to resign or be fired for his Oct. 27 posting, which laid out an argument that the cost for AIDS research and treatment should factor into the national debate over the acceptance of gays and lesbians.

Actually, Chapman is correct – keep in mind the proposed Freedom of Choice Act; it spoke of the downturn the economy will take if all of the children that should have been aborted would be born because it was ASSUMED that they and their mothers would be on the government dime. So why is there a difference of importance between gays and the unborn? Because the unborn cannot speak for themselves. I assure you that these precious preborn souls would choose Life.

Besides what the homosexual lifestyle infers, as taxpayers we already pay for HIV and AIDS research and treatment, we already pay for abortions and contraception; but the proposed healthcare bill will include gender reassignment and fulfilling homosexual ‘families’ – artificial insemination,  IVF, infertility counseling, adoption and foster parenting.

Our freedom of speech is limited to the opinion of those that are within earshot and a computer.

It’s time to GET OFF THE COUCH and stand up for LIFE and LIBERTY.

More on the HR3200

or moron? Bits and pieces of outrage and concern about the ObamaScare Plan…

AARP gets the deserved backlash…From Foxnews.com: The senior advocacy group AARP is now coming under criticism from its own members for appearing to support President Obama’s health care reform plans…..Some AARP members say they are so outraged that they’ve taken to tearing up their membership cards and firing off heated letters to the organization’s CEO…..”We get letters every single day from people that are very upset about this bill and about the AARP supporting it,” said Stuart Barton, president of the American Seniors Association. “So I don’t blame them for coming back and saying they are going to tear up their AARP cards.”

Not everyone is on the ObamaScare Plan bandwagon…From the Times-Picayune:  On the last day before the U.S. House began its August recess, Rep. Anh “Joseph” Cao, R-New Orleans, told The Times-Picayune (NOLA.com) that he could not vote for health-care overhaul if it permits any public money to be used to pay for abortions…..“I’d rather save my soul than vote for the health care bill.”

All good things come to an end…From Foxnews.com:  “This provision may start us down a treacherous path toward government-encouraged euthanasia if enacted into law,” House Minority Leader John Boehner, R-Ohio, and Rep. Thaddeus McCotter, R-Mich. said in a statement last month…..Euthanasia fears are among some of the legislation’s critics and leading others to believe that the White House is looking to save money by pressuring insurers to provide less coverage to seniors.

And my personal favoriteReality Check! If you want to hear the White House lie to you about the ObamaScare plan – “We’re offering the site and tools to empower individuals across the country to take this content into their own hands and share it among their networks,” a senior administration official said.

Reality Check works on your ‘trust’ in the government; do not be deceived. The ObamaScare Plan bill is a plan for population control, both before and after birth. For all intents and purposes, it’s about death. Think of it this way – the Freedom of Choice Act was supposed to be the ‘first thing I’ll sign when I become President’ – and so far hasn’t been mentioned as much as us lifers thought it would be. This is why…the HR 3200 is going to take care of all of it…in one big whoosh of the pen.

Freedom of Choice, by stealth.

Busting unions

Slowly but surely what the government did to the car business is exactly what they are trying to achieve in the healthcare business.

Let me explain.  I was in the car business on both sides of the fence; process to build and selling the actual unit. I was in the process end of it in 1990. I saw a lot of waste and distaste. Back then, I made under $10 per hour and was signed out to the customer (Chrysler) for $35 per hour. I saw multitudes of Vice Presidents that drove nice cars and played a lot of golf. Back then I wondered how much longer it was going to take for the car business to out-source and out-do itself until there was nothing left. That finally happened this year. Three CEO’s had to answer for it. Was that right? No. It was still a business owned by people, not the government. What the three Amigos did was stupid and it put their jobs and corporations right on the chopping block. Can the car business be a business again instead of a country club? It could have been under better circumstances than what Obama did – tried to socialize it so that they would have to answer to the President of the United States instead of stock holders.

Take two and call me in the morning...
Take two and call me in the morning...

What does that have to do with healthcare? The Obama administration is doing the exact same thing to the hospital and healthcare system; break it down until every doctor and nurse that is still paying through the nose for student loans is on the street.

From The Columbus Dispatch:  ‘The free and subsidized care local hospitals provide increased 15 percent last year, and the recession has officials predicting a double-digit spike this year. Hospital executives say they can’t absorb these losses, and that the costs would be passed on to businesses through higher health-insurance premiums.’ Read the article here.

The reason why it’s getting particularly bad is because of the soaring unemployment rate and these now unemployed people without health insurance still need care. Many of them had pre-existing conditions that need attention and medicine on a daily basis.

This where the government sees an opportunity to take over the healthcare system and they’ll try to ramrod right through with ‘reproductive health’ while they see a chance to get away with their agenda. If this THING passes, the government will make your health decisions for you including child bearing, or not to bear child.

We are on the cusp of a completely socialized government unless ‘We The People’ get up off our couches and do something about it. If we don’t, we’ll be told what car to drive and how many children we’re allowed to have or not allowed to have. Our daughters will be able to get birth control and abortions on demand without parental consent, which already happens in some states DUE TO THE EXISTING GOVERNMENT. If we’re too sick, we’ll languish; if we’re compliant, we’ll get better jobs and homes.

In a God-less society our future looks like a bad remake of the Blade Runner. But, IF you are a child of God, this too shall pass…and we will meet Him in the air and leave the next seven years to the government.

FOCA, under their breath

Not all Democrats are on board with the new healthcare reform legislation. A bipartisan group says healthcare reform must include an explicit ban on the use of taxpayer money for abortions to prevent them from increasing as a result of the legislation.

Pro-life is no abortion, EVER, for any reason.
Pro-life is no abortion, EVER, for any reason.

From The Columbus Dispatch:  In a separate letter (regarding higher taxes for small businesses to fund the healthcare legislation) to Pelosi last month, Driehaus and Rep. Marcy Kaptur of Toledo  (Ohio) joined 17 other House Democrats to warn that they would oppose a health-care bill that requires the federal government to pay for abortions through Medicaid.

“The Obama administration has been attempting to smuggle into law the greatest expansion of abortion since Roe v. Wade, and the statement is significant because they’re starting to be fleshed out on what they’re up to,” said Douglas Johnson, legislative director for the National Right to Life Committee.

From The Hill:  “The legislation doesn’t specifically mention abortion,” said Adam Sonfield, senior public policy associate at the pro-choice Guttmacher Institute. While the bill would give the secretary of Health and Human Services (Kathleen Sebelius) some power over which health benefits insurers must provide, it’s not clear that the Obama administration would force insurers to cover abortion, Sonfield said. He noted that Democrats don’t seem to have the appetite to overturn the Hyde Amendment, an issue that has been fought over for more than three decades.

Now we know better than that – little by little we are being force fed the Freedom of Choice Act one morsel at a time. ‘Doesn’t specifically mention abortion’, ‘not clear it would force insurers to cover abortion’…Democrats really do think they are smarter than the average bear. Trying to placate the American Citizen is just pitiful. And since Kathleen Sebelius is going to have some pull, you know that abortion WILL be covered, probably as a memorial to her good friend Dr. George Tiller – he died for the ‘cause’, you know.

Private insurers are holding their breath – do they have to cover abortion? They’ve never had to cover elective procedures before, have they? Oh, that’s right….it’s all about the mother’s strain on her health and life. It is taxing on a person to murder your own unborn child. So this procedure would not be considered elective, it would be preventative just like any reproductive health care.

‘Abortion-rights advocates dismissed the notion that the healthcare bill would automatically lead to an increase in abortions and public abortion funding.’ Again, the legislation does not specifically mention abortion, does it? That’s the Freedom of Choice Act, under their breath.

Slowly I turn, step by step

And you thought you never saw it coming – Freedom of Choice Act, bit by bit.

The Dornan Amendment has prohibited taxpayers from funding abortions since 1996, but Obama would change that by adding the word federal before the word funds in this section of the Amendment which would permit local funds to be used.

Under the Obama administration’s cut an paste, the prohibition will only apply to federal tax money, and the exemptioobamaabortionns would be expanded to include any case where a woman suffers from a physical disorder, physical injury, or physical illness, including those physical conditions that endanger the life of the mother, which includes so-called mental illness or distress. Even if that were the case, less than 1% of abortions come from incest and/or rape, and under 6% to ‘save the life of the mother’, which at that time, you are not a mother any longer…a mother wouldn’t kill her child.

“Some wide-eyed journalists and various political shills for the Obama administration continue to write fairy tales about how President Obama wants to pursue policies that would reduce abortions,” said Douglas Johnson, legislative director for the National Right to Life Committee. “That is a political scam. In reality, President Obama is pursuing a step-by-step strategy to expand access to abortion.”

At this point, this bit of legislation is directed at Washington D.C. It is estimated that about 1,000 or more abortions would be performed and allow minors to receive taxpayer-funded abortions without parental consent in the District of Columbia if the revisions to the Dornan Amendment were allowed to be changed:

  1. Sneaking in bits of new legislation under the taxpayers nose
  2. Going after minor girls, again
  3. Deliberately going into an impoverished area; 20% under the poverty level
  4. Parents not allowed to know, under the LAW
  5. Making it all nice and legal-like, but not really.

“Common sense dictates one truism: we won’t find reductions in abortion as long as we continue to subsidize and promote it at taxpayers’ expense.  The Obama administration’s promise to find ways to reduce abortion numbers rings hollow in such an environment,” said Susan B. Anthony List President Marjorie Dannenfelser.

The Subcommittee on Financial Services and General Government (headed by a Democrat) is scheduled to vote on the Amendment on July 7.

Don’t think for one minute that this does not affect you if you are not in the D.C. area. This is going nationwide under local laws and statutes. Remember, NO prolife groups were invited to the Obama’s 2010 budget proposal, but National Abortion and Reproductive Rights Action League (NARAL) was there.

I can’t wait to see how many women from the surrounding D.C. area will descend like locusts to get free government abortions. Yet another task force for Obama to dream up to make women prove residency. And we get to pay for that, too.
