The Constitutionality of Abortion, 101.

Lots of recent legislation in MANY states will shut down MANY abortion facilities, but not all of them….by design. In Texas, Ohio and Louisiana laws that are essentially the same across the board were designed to protect the lives of the unborn AND the women who choose to kill their child. This year in a Cleveland facility, a woman died from the procedure. Was anything done about it? Well, Preterm is still open so I’d say NO. Read all of the documentation of this and others here.KEEPLIFELEGAL

Laws have been put into place by legislators to protect. These have been tested for their constitutionality so that they can survive past committee.

For instance, Martin Haskell in Ohio has been told that since he cannot meet the new requirements, he has to shut down. Period. He claims he has a constitutional right as an abortionist to stay open…but the truth is he has a lucrative business that he is not willing to give up on. The blood money he makes from killing unborn children keeps him in luxury homes and vehicles. This also holds true to the owner of Capital Care Network of Toledo who cannot meet the new law requirements; currently she has been given a ‘stay’ so she can ‘do business’.

But the question remains, are these laws constitutional? Yes…because undue burden cannot be proven and it would not leave Ohio abortion facility free. The same is true for Texas and Louisiana. A new lawsuit in Louisiana claims the new laws will shut down all facilities. Absolutely not true; at least 2 will be able to survive the new laws and in Texas, 6 or 7 can meet the requirements.

Then, what will shut down these killing facilities? Reversal of Roe, taking it back to the states as it should have been…or was, before 1973.

The argument of illegal abortion will thrive is pitiful at best because illegal abortions are still happening with abortion being legal in all states. Kermit Gosnell proved this, as well as buying the ‘abortion pill’ off the internet. This urban legend of abortion going back to the back alleys is probably the best bullying tactic that the Left and Planned Parenthood have.  Over and over again, sin that has been made law to gain tax revenue has been shown to be a crime magnet and does not curb abortion [or gambling, alcoholism, drug addiction, homelessness, theft, gangs, prostitution, etc.].

To summarize, what makes these laws constitutional in Texas, Louisiana and Ohio [& others] is that not all facilities will close as a result of it….that means rather than abortionists and pro-aborts understanding that the new laws ARE constitutional, they see it as a means to shut down a very profitable BUSINESS. The ‘reproductive rights’ of women were never tread upon, but shown that places OTHER than abortion facilities or abortion related businesses can supply their particular need [contraceptives, exams, etc].

The attorney for Haskell really believed she had covered what was constitutional, the truth is she was trying to keep a BUSINESS open for a person who makes a living murdering the unborn. THUSLY the law did not skirt the constitutional ‘right’ to abortion in any of these states, it simply protects women who can die or be injured from the abortion procedure AND protect viable life outside of the womb.

Will the new laws close abortion facilities? YES. All of them? NO. Recent Mississippi law couldn’t shut down the last facility because the federal court cannot take this constitutional right to abortion totally away from any state, unless a case can be brought to the SCOTUS….EVEN THOUGH the Mississippi abortion facility in Jackson cannot and will not meet the state requirements. What will happen in a state with one lone facility? The federal court essentially said that the safety of women does not supersede the RIGHT to murder unborn infants within the womb.

The federal court is not our friend if lives will be sacrificed to keep a bad law.

My dear friends, continue to pray to end abortion, show up to vote, show up at the sidewalk of abortion facilities and the hospitals that perform them. Without prayer, church support and community support, we cannot defeat this Goliath.

I challenge you to find five smooth stones [prayer, fasting, love, boldness, steadfastness] and face this Goliath called abortion.

STOP THE VIOLENCE: Bridging the GAP between violence & peace in your city.

This one simple ‘law’ that goes unnoticed is that violence begets violence. Violence happens within the home, in the street and in the womb. The news covers what they want to acknowledge as violence but do they cover it all?

Innocent children are murdered every day…about 4000 times per day in the United States. Abortion is the most violent act that a child will suffer, and make no mistake: They suffer a real murder without the ability to defend themselves at the hand of their own family. See the real-time stats here.

Then, how can major cities lament their violence against children while they continue to allow the most heinous act against kids?

In New Orleans, a recent editorial headline says, “Life shouldn’t be so dangerous for children in New Orleans.” TRUTH. Life shouldn’t be so dangerous for children anywhere. But inner city New Orleanians and Louisianians are killing their unborn children with disarticulation and dismemberment and wonder why there is violence in their own communities?

The number of REPORTED abortions in Louisiana [2010] was 8,872. Recent legislation was passed in Louisiana to stop most of the violence against unborn children and will begin by September 1. At one time, the abortion industry was much larger and stronger in Louisiana, but forthright legislators have been doing much to curtail it as much as possible.

According to the Kaiser Foundation, 58% of abortions in Louisiana kill unborn black babies and 39% unborn white babies [3% 'other']. Abortion targets the inner cities of America to line their pockets with blood money of poor minority women.

The future site of the new Planned Parenthood mega killing center is on Claiborne Avenue in the heart of New Orleans which was by design;  this is not incidental. This on a very well planned and convenient bus line that brings women in from all over the city. If Planned Parenthood ‘can’ build this regional abortion center, violence in the city will be astronomical. If murder in the womb is acceptable, then how can murder in the streets be unacceptable?

Violence BEGETS violence.

“Even if abortion did lower crime by culling out “unwanted” children (a conclusion derived from flawed statistics), this effect would be greatly outweighed by the rise in crime associated with the greater incidence of single-parent families that also follows from abortion liberalization. In short, more abortions have brought more crime.” Read the rest here.

Violence begets violence, two abortion facilities kills New Orleanians and no one notices. If a city or community wants to stop the violence, they need to start at the abortion facilities. And Planned Parenthood is trying to open up a regional killing center right in the heart of it all.

Life is precious, not an afterthought.

“You have heard that it was said, ‘An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth.’ But I tell you not to resist an evil person. But whoever slaps you on your right cheek, turn the other to him also. If anyone wants to sue you and take away your tunic, let him have your cloak also. And whoever compels you to go one mile, go with him two. Give to him who asks you, and from him who wants to borrow from you do not turn away.” [Matthew 5:38-42]

SIDEWALK CHRONICLES: It was my mom’s choice.

It was a rainy day on the sidewalk, a great day for ducks. While the weather can keep prolifers from coming to the sidewalk, abortion does not stop. Women and their coercers come from the tri-state area and sometimes MUCH further to hide – KILL – a family secret.

2014-08-22 10.01.54Fulton County, Georgia [Atlanta area] is about 500 miles from the facility. When a new, full size SUV pulled in with an out of state plate, most times it’s assumed that they are students at one of the local universities. Not this time. This was a family who brought this little girl – appeared to be no more than 14 years old – to a facility 500 miles from home in Georgia.

The girl’s mother was not just angry, but MEAN. When we tried to peacefully talk with them, the little girl looked back at us to listen about keeping her precious child but her mother forcibly pushed her into the facility. Not at tap, roughly SHOVED her minor daughter into a place where her tiny unborn baby was about to die at the hand of her own mother.

Then you have to ask….WHO’S CHOICE WAS THIS?

Since I’ve personally been through nearly this exact scenario, I know whose choice it was – NOT MINE. My mother paid an abortionist to kill her own grandchild, my child.

2014-08-15 09.45.20This so-called CHOICE we are supposed to have is truly not ours at all; it’s the CHOICE of family, friends, the federal government and society to say you can’t have your baby. It’s been proven over and over again that women don’t want to abort; they feel coerced into the decision from everyone else that does not have to deal with the loss of the child for the rest of the mom’s life.

It’s easy to have an opinion about CHOICE, but what CHOICE are you really giving pregnant women OTHER than abortion?

KEEPLIFELEGAL

I asked a young woman who was protesting us if instead of abortion, would she and her friends help pay the pregnant woman’s rent or gas to get to work or buy groceries so she can keep her child. SILENCE….absolute deadening SILENCE.

CHOICE only teaches and purports one thing ABORTION, nothing else. And when you see prochoice protesters, ask them what OTHER CHOICE they espouse. I’m pretty sure you’ll hear SILENCE because they can’t give an answer. Prochoicers love to tell us to adopt all the babies but where are they when pregnant women need real help? I know where….on the steps of the statehouse saying that THEIR RIGHTS are much more important and constitutional than the RIGHT TO LIFE and a woman’s RIGHT to have her baby.

After all, shouldn’t SOCIAL JUSTICE begin in the WOMB?

Agape Defiled: How the Church Has Failed 55 Million Orphans

By: Rolley Haggard Published: May 9, 2013 8:20 PM

There’s an elephant in the living room. Only it isn’t an elephant, and it isn’t in the living room. It’s a golden calf, and it’s in our baptismal font and our pulpit and our sanctuary and our Sunday School class and our Bible study group and everywhere else we worship and serve God, because, truth be told, it’s in our hearts.

To put it bluntly: We, the church of Jesus Christ, have an idol.

It’s called ministry.

Ministry?

Yes, ministry: busying ourselves with the things of God. Granted, ministry seems very un-idol-like. But then, subtlety is the hallmark of seductive sins. It has been the devil’s most effective stratagem since the beginning of time: Get the sin to seem no sin. Better, get it to seem like service to God. Better still, get it to be service to God. Sins don’t get more subtle than that, nor does idolatry seem like idolatry when we’re busy doing things God instructed us to do. It seems like true Christianity, like pure and undefiled religion.

But is it? Even ministry can be idolatry when it supplants what God most wants from us. What is the acid test of true Christianity, of pure and undefiled religion? What does it look like?

Pure and Undefiled Religion

We are not left guessing. In James 1:27, God tells us what “pure and undefiled religion” looks like: “Visit[ing] orphans and widows in their distress.” That’s divine shorthand for serving “the least of these” with sacrificial agape love. Acts of compassion, exemplified by coming to the aid of suffering women and children, are the distinguishing marks of true Christianity.

The American church, by stunning contrast, has been characterized the past 40 years—ever since Roe v. Wade—by the deliberate and thoroughgoing neglect of 55 million orphans in exquisite distress. One has to wonder if the cold indifference shown by the church to these orphans could have been any more absolute had salvation itself depended on completely ignoring them.

Orphans?

Yes, orphans, in the truest sense. These little victims, before having their lives snuffed out in abortion, were emphatically orphans, for there are two ways a child becomes an orphan: One is to lose his parents; the other is for his parents to abandon him. It doesn’t take a Solomon to see here the applicability of James 1:27.

Yet for four decades the church has fastidiously refused to muster aid on behalf of these little people and against one of the most barbaric and inhumane practices imaginable. Not only has the church opted not to visit these orphans in their distress, but by refusing to voice any significant public moral objection, the church has actually gone to the opposite extreme and given tacit sanction to their cruel mutilation and murder.

And this comports with James 1:27, how?

No one will answer that question because there is no answer. We are wholly without excuse. We have ignored not only the soundless cries of these abandoned orphans, but more ominously, the unequivocal declarations of our God and Father as well.

This raises the additional and perhaps more deeply soul-probing question: If pure and undefiled religion in God’s sight is to visit orphans in their distress, then just what kind of religion has the church been practicing since 1973? What kind of religion is it whose defining characteristic is the refusal to visit tens of millions of orphans in their inconceivably great distress?

Defining Characteristic?

Yes, defining characteristic. A defining characteristic is the feature most notable and distinctive about a thing. A hundred years from now history will remember us not for our missions or evangelism or our ministry, much less for our fidelity to the Bible. It will remember us for our breathtakingly thorough disregard of orphans in their distress.

Abortion continues to flourish largely because of us. We could end abortion overnight—if we really wanted to. The present generation of Christians will no more be lauded for its service to Christ than would a perverted pastor who preached spellbinding sermons and won thousands of souls by day, but committed pedophilia against a four-year-old child by night.

We will not be remembered for the religious busyness we called ministry—in the final analysis, this amounts to so much window-dressing in the sight of God—but for refusal to give Christ the one thing He wants in evidence of true love for Him: that we would love our neighbor as ourselves.

The logic is inescapable: If pure and undefiled religion in the sight of God is to give compassionate, sacrificial, agape love to abandoned children, then American Christianity is grotesquely impure and defiled—like a river of life befouled by the corpses of too many children for even the angels to count.

Solomon: The Mother’s Day Ruminations of an Abandoned Son

Call me her son, but not my mother deem
The one who gave me life enough to taste
The barest part of God’s ecstatic dream,
Then rid me from her womb with wicked haste.
“Considered innocent till guilty proved”
So said the law she praised, yet gave me death
With no defense, who not so much as moved
A tiny fist or raised his voice in threat.
She thought it wisdom plotting my demise
And naming “Orphan,” by default, her son;
But she by murder made that son more wise;
For cenotaphs shall dub him “Solomon,”
Who, like the Sage, is sure a mother true
Would not consent to cut her child in two.

LATE TERM ABORTIONIST MARTIN HASKELL UPDATE: Sharonville Abortionist Will Not Appeal to Next Court – Surgical Abortions Reported to End Friday

BREAKING NEWS From Right to Life of Greater Cincinnati:

“August 20, 2014 (Cincinnati, OH): News outlets are reporting that late term abortionist Martin Haskell will not appeal to the First District Court of Appeals in an attempt to contest Judge Jerry Metz’ decision to uphold the Ohio Department of Health order that his Women’s Med Center abortion facility be closed for operating outside Ohio health and safety laws.

See Channel 5 recent report.

“The Ohio law has been upheld and the decision not to appeal confirms its importance in protecting women’s health and safety,” said Paula Westwood, Executive Director, Right to Life of Greater Cincinnati.

“Concerns still remain, in that Martin Haskell’s Women’s Med Center remains open and could still offer chemical, non-surgical, RU-486 abortions, which are also a a proven serious health hazard, contributing to documented deaths.”

There isn’t a conclusion yet, Haskell’s Kettering facility will likely be open to kill six days rather than the four days it is currently open. Haskell’s Indiana facility, under Indiana law, can abort up to 12 weeks. In Ohio, there is a 20 limit, further if ‘danger’ or ‘health’ of the mother.

As we get more information, we will update accordingly.

Keep up the GREAT work! #SHUTTHEMDOWN

SIDEWALK CHRONICLES: “How can my friend get past her abortion?”

THAT is probably the number one question I am most often asked, after “Don’t you people have a job?” People are funny…

Yesterday, a woman said that her friend confessed to having an abortion many, many years ago and can’t get past the ‘past’. She asked my opinion of what to tell her, and here it is: JESUS.

In my mind’s eye, I see a crucified Jesus dying on a cross for me…bloodied, bludgeoned, humiliated. He died a public death for ME and my sinful past that cannot be erased from my memory or the history that others insist on remembering, you know….just in case I forgot ;)

My Faith is in my risen LORD. It is His shed Blood which washed my sin away never to be remembered again. Then, it is up to ME to rest in His finished work on the Cross, that I AM FORGIVEN and that NO ONE can take that away from me. EVER.

My dear sisters in the LORD: If you have had an abortion, I understand what you are going through, I have carried that bag. You do not have to carry this heavy burden any longer! TRUST IN JESUS – He will forgive, He will LOVE you, He will protect you!

Way too often I hear how God cannot possibly forgive them. NOTHING can be further from the truth! It isn’t God who won’t forgive, it’s people…people that you TRUST who will try to separate you from God by reminding you of your past. Relative righteousness is how people feed off other’s miseries and histories. Do not be fooled, God is not MOCKED; He will make beauty FROM ashes!

We need to require more from our friends and family who seek to keep us under subjection to THEM.

We are His, We are forgiven, We will NOT be forsaken.

Jesus said: “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” [Matthew 11:28-30]

DEATH IS SOLD HERE: The Judicial Revolving Door is for Abortionists Only.

KEEPLIFELEGAL
The prior week’s aborted children.

In the state of Ohio, legislators worked TIRELESSLY to pass prolife legislation since the recent elections. There was great progress made to keep women safe by requiring abortionists to have REAL admitting privileges at a LOCAL hospital, just like any other doctor that performs any surgery, such as plastic surgeons and oral surgeons.

Why won’t women research the abortionist like they would for shoes or purses?

Shouldn’t it important to you to find out if your doctor is in good standing with a local hospital? And if he/she is not, wouldn’t you like to know why? Then why do abortionists get a [judicial] pass?

See a recent inspection report here.

What are admitting privileges? Admitting privileges are the right of a physician to admit patients to a particular hospital, and to provide specific services in that facility. In order for a physician to be granted privileges, a hospital generally checks the individual’s medical credentials, license and malpractice history.” Read the rest here.

A couple of days ago I had an attorney’s ear who happened to be Republican and asked him about the appeals process for the notorious partial-birth abortionist Martin Haskell; he has appealed AGAIN and I’d like to know when that is going to stop and a final decision made. I also inquired about the Toledo facility that is to lose their license today [8/12/14]. I believe that at least four abortion facilities in Ohio are ‘operating’ outside of the law, without admitting privileges to any hospital.

KEEPLIFELEGALThe attorney said probably never; as long as the abortionist has the money TO appeal, they can continue regardless of what the law says. The morbid part of it is that they can continue to hurt women and kill unborn infants while in appeals. PEOPLE: This isn’t a botched nose job…children are DYING.

To infinity and beyond? The liberal judges that abortionists easily find to hear these cases could tell them to cease all ‘business’ until a decision is made…but they seldom do. Judges and the abortionist’s attorneys cite so-called ‘hardship’ making abortion minded women to go further to abort. Whose hardship is it? Is it theirs because of their lofty lifestyle and the blood money it takes to support it OR is the hardship for the unborn baby that will be disarticulated and shredded during an abortion procedure as the appeals process drones on and on and on?

Well, there you go: Abortionists can appeal forever and continue to kill in Ohio. Anyone who does not follow the law is a CRIMINAL.

The Great Prolife Commission: Knowing that there may not be an end to the judicial revolving door for abortionists, we have to continue steadfast and in boldness of spirit to save the unborn from abortion death EVEN if that is one mom and baby at a time. The sidewalk is that slim gap between life and death for the babies…we need to continue to utilize it and capitalize it for the Glory of God to save lives and further the Great Commission.

Go to the sidewalk, rain or shine, heat or snow, closed or open and PRAY. Bring friends, neighbors, family and your church and PRAY TODAY. EVERY STEP COUNTS IN THE RACE.

UPDATE: The Toledo abortion facility, Capital ‘Care’ Network, got their ‘stay’ today.

...and the chicken said, "NO WAY!"

How to Spot a RINO in the Wilderness of Political Apathy

Most county and state fairs will have political party booths, and with this being a midterm year, you’d think you would have seen some actual candidates. Alas, not at the Miami County Fair in Ohio. Instead attorneys were holding down folding chairs at the Miami County Republican ‘Headquarters’ booth. And pitiful it was.

KEEPLIFELEGALI typically wear a prolife or Christian gear wherever I go to provoke people to think about our precious unborn and the Lord Jesus Christ. No, I don’t get tons of ‘thumbs up’. Today was no different; I wore my 40 Days for Life gear and had a very pleasant day at the county fair with my husband…even with the sneers and jeers of the audacity to actually wear my faith and conviction OUT LOUD.

KEEPLIFELEGALAfter visiting the Miami County Right to Life booth, we went to the Republican Headquarters booth. There were two men there, none looked like any of the candidates of that district. But I asked, somewhat offhandedly, “Are you prolife?” SILENCE. TOTAL SILENCE. One of the men piped up with an apathetic “The Republican platform says prolife.” Really. Sir, I suggest you READ the GOP platform issues regarding protecting unborn life from conception to birth AND the abolition of abortion:

THERE ARE NONE REQUIRING THE ABOLITION OF ABORTION. Until there is a reversal of Roe v. Wade, there cannot be sanctity of  unborn life protection by the federal government. Although the platform does call for the sanctity of all human life, not every card carrying Republican will follow it.

KEEPLIFELEGALBeing totally patronized by what looked and acted like the Sanhedrin, we left the booth but came back about 15 minutes later ANGRY at the party we supported through the years because they SAID they are prolife. Well, the proof is in the platform…NOT PROLIFE. By the time we came back, there were three men there – all attorneys, still no candidates.

The assumption that prolifers are illiterate, ignorant and ill-informed of the issues and platforms is really quite dangerous. Like Sarah Palin said, “Don’t bring a lawsuit to a gunfight….there is no place for lawyers on the front lines.”

I really hate having to reiterate my prolife/ministry/political resume over and over to let these talking heads know that I’m not your presumed illiterate, ignorant and/or ill-informed prolifer. But there I went again, defending who we are in the FIGHT FOR LIFE.

Probably the most ridiculous thing this attorney said was that we raised the faith card, making our ‘faith’ better than his AND said that our efforts are more righteous than theirs. Not true, that was never said – but nice tactic…take the focus off how pathetic your so-called prolife republican stance is. Yes, we had a witness. A man came along to see and hear the spectacle. He wasn’t pleased with what he heard, either.

Feeding the sheep or entertaining the goats?
Feeding the sheep or entertaining the goats?

While I had an attorney’s ear, I asked him about the appeals process for the notorious partial-birth abortionist Martin Haskell; he has appealed AGAIN and I’d like to know when that is going to stop and a decision made. He said probably never. Well, there you go: Abortionists can appeal forever and continue to kill in the meantime. I asked why they can continue to “make a living” while other criminals have to mind the law. But I suppose that abortionists raise the Liberal card and get their pass.

But there was one last question that we had for the Sanhedrin: What is Miami County Republican Party position on gay marriage?

And the Sanhedrin said: WE HAVE NONE.

One a side note: They refused to tell us their names.

Well there you go. The GOP is on a platform of NEUTRALITY, said from the mouths of our own Miami County Republican Headquarters. Where were the actual candidates Bill Beagle and Stephen Huffman?

We are in trouble.

This visit at the Republican fair booth was a polar opposite of last year at the Warren County Fair where there was an actual, real life State Representative shaking hands and getting to know people in his district. Yep, that actually happened.

LET ME SUMMARIZE: This is happening everywhere, maybe the exception is Texas; they seem to do what the actually say…like shut down abortion facilities when they say they will. The sad fact is that what Texas does is no longer the norm, it may never get there again. WE THE PEOPLE have to discern who is actually going to support LIFE from conception to natural death, and it may not be a Republican any longer. Since the oust of Eric Cantor by a Tea Party candidate Dave Brat, this sheds a bright light on the possibilities of the conservative upswing in the United States.

Then….is the Tea Party the new black? In a conservative world, yes it is.

America’s Greatest Tragedy in Your Own Backyard? Yes.

We see neighbors walking for fitness sporadically while we are on the sidewalk. Yesterday, a neighbor walked right in front of us in her brand new blue Nike’s and asked: “Is THAT an abortion clinic?”

I was kind of shocked by that…how can she, or anyone else, not know this? We have Life Chain, TWO 40 Days Campaigns per year (3-4 rallies apiece), constant vigil particularly when the facility is open….“Is THAT an abortion clinic?” WOW. But my surprise is short lived: Churches refuse to acknowledge this facility, too….or we would see much more activity….which we don’t. The Church won’t dirty their hands with America’s greatest tragedy.

KEEPLIFELEGALTip of the iceberg, I’d say. Who else doesn’t know? If there is no participation from the churches in the community, how can they know?

Some abortion facilities hide very well from their neighbors and local businesses – and then there are others that ‘hide’ in plain sight. Haskell’s murder mill tried to hide but it didn’t quite work. His legendary work of being a ‘pioneer’ of the partial birth abortion didn’t help his anonymity much.

This killing facility has been at the exact same address since the mid 80’s. I’ve seen the county auditor report for how much money the property has LOST through the years. It’s been an eyesore on this community and has literally brought down the property value of nearby homes. A house right behind it can’t sell at all. Who would want to live right behind a place that murders unborn infants? KEEPLIFELEGAL

“Is THAT an abortion clinic?” You have wonder how many other people who live near the place have no idea that America’s greatest tragedy is right in their own back yard. Conversely, I’m sure that many don’t care that this murder mill is in their midst…until they try to sell their home. Are they ‘sincerely deceived’?

America’s greatest tragedy is sat squarely in a neighborhood with families, retirees, parks, churches…right in your own backyard.

Operation Save America

SIDEWALK CHRONICLES: The Post Abortive Life of the Prolifer in the Abortion Wars

I stand with many people on the sidewalk from other walks of life, religions, and why they come to the battle ground of the abortion wars. We each have our own story, mine is unique…so is yours.

All I can do is give an account of what it is like to be post abortive from my perspective and in the line of fire.

Let me start off with GOD IS GOOD! I couldn’t do any of this without His mercy and grace. While I did not have the strength to overcome from my own family, I have a heavenly Father who loves and forgives and WANTS me to overcome, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me,” [Matthew 16:24]. I had to first deny myself – who I WAS without Christ – and pick up the cross that no one else will and be the disciple I am meant to be.

OSAscreenshotfuneral1As I continue along in these abortion wars on and off the sidewalk, people ask me what it’s like to be post abortive. I’ve always found this hard to explain but today I had a revelation that explains it fully. I came across a new Operation Save America video from their last national event in New Orleans. The event included an aborted child’s funeral in Jackson Square. A young man was carrying this tiny casket…and there it was.

Post Abortive women carry this tiny but very heavy casket of their own aborted child [or children] everywhere they go. The weight of it is incredible; the casket not only has our dead child in it, but it also has all of the regret, shame, guilt and self-hatred with it.

Every day without Christ, the tiny white casket gets heavier and heavier. There are days when we really think everyone else can see it and THAT is excruciatingly painful. It’s like the scarlet letter, out loud and for everyone to mock and scorn.

With Christ the burden is lighter but still there, it was my own sin that led me down a path to being post abortive. Because of the loving kindness of a risen Savior, I can now be the soldier in the war to stop what killed my unborn child. My scarlet letter will always be there but I wear it differently – my pain can keep another from taking a step down the same path.

On the sidewalk, we openly tell people what abortion is, what it will do today and what it will do in the future. There are no lies and no exaggerations, only truth and the Gospel. OSAscreenshotfuneral2

During the funeral, Father Frank Pavone said it best: “Because they were killed in secret, we will honor them in the broad of day. Because after all, the killing of these children by abortion is promoted and advertised publicly; well therefore we are going to honor them publicly.”

I publicly honor my child every day I am on the sidewalk. THAT is how I heal from abortion.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
And lean not on your own understanding;
In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He shall direct your paths.” Psalm 3:5-6

Special thanks to Operation Save America, Fr. Frank Pavone, and Stand True AND my husband for honoring the children lost to abortion.
