Can your baby feel pain? I know most moms don’t use diaper pins anymore, but for those that have…you know your child felt pain when you accidentally stuck him/her. It hurts and they cry. But does a child feel pain that is not yet born?
I’ve looked around the web and depending on who you click on will be the answer you’ll get. Ask anyone that is pro-choice and they will say that a child cannot feel pain until the central nervous system is in place. NOT TRUE.
A perfect example: ‘The bill, which was introduced by Speaker of the Legislature Mike Flood, bases its assertion that fetuses feel pain on the testimony of doctors, some of it given during a 2005 Congressional hearing on the subject. It contends there is substantial evidence that by 20 weeks, fetuses seek to evade stimuli in a way that indicates they are experiencing pain…..But testimony from that hearing also suggests the medical community has not reached a consensus on fetal pain.’ Read the entire article here.
In the first month (1-4 weeks) of gestation the heart, digestive system, backbone and spinal cord begin to form. In the 9th week, when most abortions are performed, the baby’s heartbeat can be heard; the main construction of the heart is complete and the brain is growing at a very rapid pace – brain waves can now be measured.
With all of the baby’s essential parts formed or forming, can he/she feel pain? YES.
From AbortionFacts.com: By week 8, the neuro-anatomic structures are present. What is needed is a sensory nerve to feel the pain and send a message to the thalamus, a part of the base of the brain, and motor nerves that send a message to that area. These are present at 8 weeks. The pain impulse goes to the thalamus. It sends a signal down the motor nerves to pull away from the hurt.
There are six states (Arkansas, Georgia, Louisiana, Minnesota, Oklahoma and Utah) that require pregnant women be told an abortion could cause pain for the baby according to the National Conference of State Legislatures.
The pain of abortion is real regardless of what side of the womb you’re on.
Watch this video…it tells a story of a woman who witnessed an abortion via ultrasound and saw the baby move away in pain while the abortionists’ probe searched for it in his/her mother’s womb.
Most statistics conclude that about (nearest estimation) 43% of ALL WOMEN will have had at least one abortion before she turns 45 years old. Another dire statistic is that about 47% of ALL ABORTIONS is a second (or more) abortion for that woman. In other words, the probability of a second abortion is nearly 50 %.
According to The Center for Bio-Ethical Reform:
Women identifying themselves as Protestants obtain 37.4% of all abortions in the U.S.
Catholic women account for 31.3%
Jewish women account for 1.3%
Women with no religious affiliation obtain 23.7% of all abortions
18% of all abortions are performed on women who identify themselves as “Born-again/Evangelical”.
Who dropped the ball?
First, the reason why proclaimed Christian women are getting abortions is because the sin of abortion is not being taught in the pulpit nor is it seen as an actual murder. Why? Because the Church walks around, jumps over and ignores the fact that sin requires repentance – requires a savior.
The obvious silence in the Church keeps Christians from getting into the fight against abortion and the restoration of Christian women victimized by it. Without restoration there is no freedom. Facing the war is only half the battle.
The Church as a whole hasn’t taken much of a position with discipling post-abortive women. There are many symptoms of Post Abortion Syndrome; depression, anxiety, sadness…but the worst is knowing she let God down. Repentance brings forgiveness! But most PAS women do not think they are worthy of forgiveness.
But not all Christian women were always Christians. Many women have come to know Jesus as Savior later in life – but that does not mean the Church can still ignore it and it definitely does not mean it never happened. Your sin is under the Blood, but repentance is still required so you can heal.
Psalm 51:10-12 says, ‘(v10)Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me. (v11)Cast me not away from your presence, and take not your Holy Spirit from me. (v12)Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and uphold me with a willing spirit.’ –ESV-
What’s the next step? Bring your sin before the Lord. How can God forgive if you think you don’t need His forgiveness?
James 4:1-2 says, ‘(v1)What causes quarrels and what causes fights among you? Is it not this, that your passions are at war within you? (v2)You desire and do not have, so you murder. You covet and cannot obtain, so you fight and quarrel. You do not have, because you do not ask.’ –ESV-
The conclusion to this dilemma in the Church is kind of murky. And that’s too bad because the very first place a Christian woman in crisis should want to go is to her Church for help and guidance, but unfortunately, the Church is lacking. We need more outreach with Crisis Pregnancy because there are three victims….the baby that might die and the mother and father that will allow it.
Psalm 139:13 says, (v13) ‘For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. (v14) I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.’ –ESV-
What kind of monster would kill a child – only because that baby has Down Syndrome? So what difference would it make if that child is not yet born? Ask the mothers of the 9 out of 10 babies aborted because the unborn child has Down Syndrome.
The Mayo Clinic says ‘Down Syndrome is a genetic disorder that causes lifelong mental retardation, developmental delays and other problems. Down syndrome varies in severity, so developmental problems range from moderate to serious.’ But does that justify murdering unborn infants with a disability? If you walked down the street and saw a person with Down Syndrome, are you compelled to kill him/her because they aren’t ‘perfect’? Of course not, you’d say. But 9 out of 10 babies (as high as 92%) diagnosed with Down Syndrome will be aborted because they are not ‘perfect’.
Eugenics is a science that deals with the improvement -as by control of human mating- of hereditary qualities of a race or breed (Merriam Webster Dictionary). There is a holocaust of Down Syndrome babies because of the world’s view of perfection.
“To abort a fetus with one of these disabilities, intending to have another child who will not be disabled, is to treat fetuses as interchangeable or replaceable,” said Peter Singer, a professor of Bioethics at Princeton University.
“It has become routine to offer pregnant women, especially those over 35 prenatal screening for Down’s Syndrome. Such testing, however, does not give a certain diagnosis of Down’s Syndrome, but only a percentage possibility. Nevertheless, the abortion rate with even an uncertain pre-natal Down’s Syndrome diagnosis is extremely high, with some studies showing as many as 90% of children aborted,” wrote Brian Skotko of the National Down’s Syndrome Congress (2005). Read the entire article here.
Sarah Palinspoke at the Ohio Right to Life Society fundraiser in Columbus on Friday (3/5/10) saying that her anti-abortion commitment was tested during her pregnancy with her youngest son, who has Down syndrome. But why didn’t Sarah abort? Because she knows the truth about LIFE through the Word of God. God made Trig perfect in His eyes, not the world’s.
Abortion is heinous enough; but to kill a child that’s not perfect enough?
Jeremiah 17:9-10 says, (v9) ‘The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately sick; who can understand it? (v10) “I the LORD search the heart and test the mind, to give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his deeds.”’ –ESV-
We are not on this Earth for the profit and pleasure of others. He knew us before we were ever formed in the womb (Jer 1:5) and has a ministry for each and every one of us…not just the ‘perfect’ ones.
As an ex-catholic, I do have knowledge of their dogma regarding death and salvation. While pondering this, it came to me: Catholics really don’t know where the aborted babies are. Most Catholics, as well as the Pope in Rome, believes that one cannot get to heaven unless one is baptized in water and is a ‘good’ person until their demise. Even still, that does not assure one’s eternity – in the Catholic faith.
So, where are the babies? Heaven, hell, limbo, purgatory, and my personal favorite – ceases to exist. Gotta love the Catholics for making the simplest doctrine of the Bible something of a fairytale. Anyway, Catholics are usually staunch pro-lifers which is wonderful! But here’s why – they believe that unless you get dunked in water and have Latin spoken over you, you’ll not see the bright side of Heaven. You will be doomed to Hell. Essentially, Catholics are pro-life because of the need of water baptism to assure (almost) the security of Salvation.
But don’t just listen to me…read what the Catholic Church AND lay Catholics say…”The fate of unbaptized children has not been determined.”
I found this nugget on a message board – “Bizarrely, looking at it this way, it almost seems like the kindest thing to do to a child is kill it at birth. After all the amount of time you spend on earth (which can be good or bad remember) is nothing compared to eternity. Especially when we are told by many religions that this eternity is either ‘Heaven’ (Better than anything on earth) or ‘Hell’ (More horrific than anything imaginable.) I was a bit shocked that this was not the only person that believed that!
What does the Bible say?
‘Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God’ (Matt 5:8). An unborn child cannot know sin, thus would be pure in heart.
‘But now he is dead, wherefore should I fast? can I bring him back again? I shall go to him, but he shall not return to me.’ (2Sam 12:23). King David knew that he would see his son in Heaven as the Holy Spirit had revealed to him.
“We cannot say we know with certainty what will happen” to unbaptized babies, Father McPartlan said, “but we have good grounds to hope that God in his mercy and love looks after these children and brings them to salvation.” Fr. McPartlan continues saying that while affirming people’s hope, the document takes pains to explain the Christian (Catholic) belief that baptism is necessary to guarantee salvation and urges parents to baptize their infants.
In summarizing this we need to understand that Scripture is sure and the absolute Word of God – no man can take away or add to it to make it their own. Catholicism is murky at best especially regarding proper doctrine. Babies, unborn and born, do go to Heaven: they do not cease to exist or have to burn a fiery Hell. The sin of the mother aborting the precious soul does not take Salvation away from the child.
…the many Haitian women who find themselves cut off from their usual sources for family planning services and supplies, including condoms, must be provided with free contraceptives. A failure to address these needs heightens the risk for unwanted pregnancy and botched abortion, HIV and other STIs, and high-risk, life-threatening pregnancies and childbirth. –GuttmacherInstitute-
Over 150,000 people died in Haiti since the earthquake and if pro-choicers have their way more will die due to abortion and abortifacients provided by anti-abortion groups like Reproductive Health Response in Conflict Consortium.
I wish this was the first we’ve heard of pro-choicers finding ‘fertile’ ground in third world countries after major catastrophes. But handing out condoms to people that have no water or food or shelter?? Condoms? Are they too good to help find survivors instead of making them?
It’s been a bit since I’ve updated the status of our odyssey regarding healthcare. As I mentioned in my article, Scare tactics and the real story behind the government healthcare conspiracy, my husband and I have been going through the wringer mentally and financially with his health and the care he should have instead of what we’ve been given.
Here’s a ‘for instance’…as you know, my husband’s insurance was cancelled and he still needed to get a CAT scan and a colonoscopy. Being that we did not have insurance my husband called and told the doctor’s office that we would be paying cash. The insurance price was $1100; cash price $325. Yes, we need health reform. I’m hoping the colonoscopy goes as well.
This has been quite taxing on my sense of humour. I’m still sick with ill will toward this whole health care society that is taking advantage of decent people that just want to have this abundant life here in these United States of America. Already half of our savings is gone…money we saved to buy our last home. Guess we’ll stay renters.
I’ve gotten so focused on everything that we eat, drink, do, poop; EVERYTHING that goes in or comes out is a priority now. It’s like we’ve gone back into infancy. Our system is flawed and hideous. We should not have to worry about being able to eat and pay rent instead of getting meds or surgery.
So as my narrative continues, I will update when I can. My husband has a great deal of pain and is concerned with the basics of Life; sleeping through the night, being able to stand without wincing or crying and not limping anymore.
Looking back at 2009, the year of living in fear of the unborn child, there have been some real strange happenings in this kind of fiasco and tragedy of the healthcare phenomenon. I’m still struck at how a lot of this was based on the ability to get government paid abortions. My mind still reels at the hatred those people have for a child not yet born. But all things considered, it was a better year for the unborn child.
…Antiabortion forces, Joffe writes, also deploy the psychological weapon of antiabortion stigma, a potent contaminant of conscience and community that has led to, among other things, “a chronic shortage of [abortion] providers”…
The truth is that there are fewer abortions every year since 1990; the most abortions were performed in 1990. Guttmacher reports and obvious decline in abortions:
1973 744,600
1990 1,608,60o
2005 1,206,200
The reason why abortions are down is not just because the number of abortion providers has dropped but because women have become smarter and are making better choices. Yes, providers are down, and we need to thank the many people that pray and march and protest in place of a child that has no voice…that’s why providers are closing their doors.
It’s no secret that the pro-life movement lost significant ground during the 2008 elections. However, the events of 2009 have clearly demonstrated the movement’s resiliency and heft. Indeed, it is safe to say that pro-lifers have been the most effective opponents of Obamacare. Their efforts on this issue alone show unmistakably that the right-to-life movement is an indispensable part of the center-right coalition.
True enough – people are tired of the threat of more murdered children for government-run healthcare and prolifers had their say in the recent election in Massachusetts. We are tired of democratic rhetoric displayed as progressive government.
Pro-lifers realize that abortion funding is a very effective wedge issue dividing moderate Democrats from Obama and his liberal base. Indeed, more than anything else, the conflict over abortion funding is responsible for the delay, and quite possibly the eventual defeat, of ObamaCare.
Ironically, the Democrats are the ones that cut off their own nose to spite their face. WE THE PEOPLE are not buying anything with abortion in it, near it or even around the block from it.
The annual March for Life in Washington, D.C. is coming this Friday….forget the battle – let’s win the WAR!!
We’ve all seen the horror of the 7.0 earthquake that hit the most populous part of Haiti. Port-au-Prince is a city and metropolitan area of nearly 3 million people. Thus far it is believed that at least 100,000 people have died; more and more die of injuries everyday and who knows who is under the rubble of the city. The grief from the world is deep and countries all over the world are convening to Haiti to help in the rescue. There is no food or water or medical treatment except for those caring souls that dare to get in a plane with supplies donated from their respective government or charities. After all, thousands are dying through no fault of their own.
In these United States in 2009, there were over 1million deaths of unborn boys and girls. Through no fault of their own, these tiny lives were murdered. There is no grief from the public, there are no telethons. Only death.
I am so sorry for what has happened to Haiti, but the horrific holocaust here in America needs my attention, time, prayer and funds. As displaced Haitians cry out for help they think is due to them from all other countries around the world, I will stay here because the cry is loud and deep from the tiny ones that are ripped from their mother’s womb.
My Call is here for the children that die for the selfishness of their mother; my Call is to minister to the women that believed the lie and lost a child.
How infernally tired I am of hearing about Ms. Coakley and her near perfect fit amongst the Kennedyites in Senate Land. I wonder if she’s heard how tired Bostonians and others from Massachusetts are of the tyranny that once was held by people who made their bazillions with rum-running and racketeering. I suppose there is honor among thieves.
It certainly wasn’t a stretch to see Ms. Coakley amid the other baby killer women on EMILY’s List. How glorified she must feel knowing that she is responsible for the deaths of future voters.
So how should we feel about someone that forced hospital workers to give abortion meds to rape victims?
Later in the debate, Brown refused to answer directly a question posed by Coakley about a measure he filed in 2005 that would have allowed hospital personnel to deny contraceptives to rape victims if they had religious objections. The amendment, which did not pass, was attached to a bill that he ultimately voted for, which required emergency rooms to provide contraceptives to rape victims.
Once again, the civil rights of the hospital workers and the POTENTIAL unborn child were set aside while forcing ER personnel to supply an abortion med without giving the POTENTIAL mother a chance to think about it after the initial attack. How sick do you have to be to shove that med down the throat of someone that is still in shock?
Coakley said she would not have supported the House health care bill because of provisions designed to prevent federal funding of abortions that abortion rights advocates said went too far…..“Her position is understandable, given the impossible choice that antichoice extremists have put members of the Senate and future members of the Senate in,’’ said Andrea Miller, executive director of NARAL Pro-Choice Massachusetts. “With that said, this is one round, and we have confidence that moving forward, we’ll continue to work to remove these extreme provisions in the conference committee.’’
It’s very amusing that NARAL and Planned Parenthood actually think they have buying power in the Senate. If that’s the case, here’s my $5 toward removing Obama from the White House and replacing him with a talking dog.
Getting back on task, it’s been quite a show in Massachusetts with all of the heavy hitters showing up for both sides. You know, the Dems have realized that they’re on the chopping block and that we want a change from the reality of CHANGE in D.C.
The Special Election is Tuesday. Choose – but choose wisely. I wonder what Ted Kennedy is doing right now?
As I have reported over and over again, the new administration wants to kill your babies and make you accept an abomination called homosexuality…in schools, government, the work place, where you live and in your church. For instance, in the headlines today:
CNNreports – “Courtroom showdown set to begin over same-sex marriage.”
The Miami Herald reports – “South Florida holds first gay wedding expo.”
And then the Boston Globe reports – “Consensus on gay rights eludes GOP,” because the Republican candidate has selected an openly gay running mate.
Anymore, newscasts are all about abortion and homosexuality. These are clear abominations in the eyes of God. How much longer before child pornography is legal?
Is nothing sacred?
Well, as a Minister, I know the answer to that – NO. Nothing that has ever been spiritually or morally correct is protected by this world any longer. Even the Church will be forced to make adjustments in the not so distant future because of the saturation of the homosexual lifestyle.
You know, if these people and their supporters used the same exuberance and gusto to feed and house the homeless, there wouldn’t be a homeless problem. I wonder how many people had no place to sleep last night. Do they care? No, they’d rather spend their money on attorneys, a house to rehab together in the city and IVF.
I am so sick of this being romanticized by the media.
So, let me help ya out Bob & Tom and Jane & Linda: We, as Christians and Americans do not care about your ‘suffering’. You are in obvious sin and think this world owes you for your lousy lifestyle CHOICE. I will not pay taxes to a government that pays you to thumb your nose at God and do the unthinkable. You do not have the right to make my child or grandchild accept about your same-sex predicament.
Let me go here again: As a Minister of the GOSPEL I will not tell my church, family or friends to accept your deviant behaviour. However, I will tell them that you were made by God and that God does love YOU – not your lifestyle.
Too bad…it would have been nice to see you in Heaven.
